I relied heavily on Disboards when I planned our first WDW trip last May, but this is my first time posting! I need help deciding between WL & POFQ.

We (me (37), DH (36), DD (7), DD (4)) stayed at WL (woods view, bunk beds) last May...and absolutely loved it! The bunk beds were great for the girls to have their own sleeping space, and we loved taking the boat to MK.

We're planning a return trip April 21-29, 2012 & this time my sister & her family will be joining us for their first trip (Sister (35), BIL (36), nephew (5), niece (2)).

Initially we planned to stay at WL since we had such a great experience last time. However, we can save a significant amount of money (approx. $1,000)by going with POFQ (which looks beautiful). My dilemma is whether we'll really miss the convenience of WL (especially with a 2-year-old in tow). We didn't spend a great deal of time at the resort during our last trip, but we're going for 8 nights this time, so I am planning on getting in some more swimming & relaxation time. Also, planning on going to HDDR, which is right next door to WL.

I'm sure since we'll be in Disney, we'll have a great time anywhere. Also, it looks like the bus service to/from POFQ is fine. I just don't want to end up wishing we were back at WL! Is it totally crazy to consider spending an additional $1,000 for WL when we'd probably be just as happy at POFQ?!?!?

(Also, I'd like to add that I only hope the worst "dilemma" any of us have in life is trying to decide between 2 awesome Disney resorts!!) :)

I would go with the Wilderness Lodge because you will get a bigger room and you would be staying in one main building, where as at POFQ they have several buildings and you could be far away from their stores, restaurants, transportation options and etc.

WL for sure.

POFQ is nice, but once you go deluxe, it is veeerrrry hard to return to a mod, especially for a long trip like that.

The boat from MK is so convenient.

I had the same dilemma. I'm taking my girls in Jan for the first time. I decided on WL! I think it looks beautiful and love that my girls will have bunkbeds!!

As much as I love POFQ the WL gets my vote. The location really is worth the extra money. Especially with family members that will have a stroller, since it's their first visit the "magic" aka convenience ;) of WL is worth it.
