Okay, I need all of your professional help! DH and I will be going for the July 4th long weekend (I know, I know, busiest time of the year, and I am seriously questioning my sanity about it!), and we had POR booked. However, the recent AP rates that came out don't include POR, so that's leaving us to decide between CBR and Pop. Just when I thought we had it all figured out! We LOVE POR because it's so relaxing and you feel miles away from the parks when you're there, and since we'll be spending the afternoons by the pools, that was a big factor.

So my question is this - would you choose Pop or CBR? Pop has an AMAZING AP rate that weekend, which I am leaning towards, but I've stayed there several times (and really loved it!) but I know it's not going to be in the least relaxing! And CBR has the relaxing atmosphere, but with their main pool being closed, any ideas of how crowded the quiet pools will be? Do they have towels available at them since the main pool is closed? And what about a pool bar - does CBR have one operating anywhere while the main pool is being refurbed? You know there's nothing better than laying by the pool with a cocktail on a hot day! Do you think CBR is even going to be all that peacful on July 4th weekend? What about buses at both resorts?

Okay, sorry that was so long and there's a lot of questions, but I just can't make up my mind! TIA! :worship:

I would normally have said Caribbean. Although not my favorite of the mods, I prefer the mods over the values (but we do not have young kids anymore and that is a big part of the reason0. However, the Caribbean's pool is under refurbishment and will not be done until some time in September. And since you indicated you'd be spending afternoons at the resort by the pool, you might want to lean towards POP.

Pop - then visit POR on your off days - you can enjoy a drink at the pool there - just don't try to swim in the pool.

that say really enjoyed the pool bar at Pop! it may not be quiet - but it is definitely fun.

try for a lake view room - they are generally quieter. but any place you can get noisey neighbors.

I would've suggested CBR, because of the "relaxing" part. Since there are quiet pools at each section (I think there's about 7), they probably won't be busy. But there are no pool bars at any of them. You have to bring your own towels from your room. However, if the main pool's closed during your stay, and that was something you were looking forward to, then it's probably a deal breaker.

POP has 3 pools. The pool bar is at the Main Pool ("Hippy Dippy Pool"). POP will be definitely busy during that time, but maybe if you request a room somewhere between the 70's and 80's sections. You'll be close to the '80s pool (hopefully quieter), or the Main pool.

Was there no availability for CSR? That one would fit your needs, as the pool is great and separate from the main building, giving you more chances to relax.
