Hi all,

if this has been asked already I apologize for the repeat:confused3
I am ready to book our Thanksgiving trip and would like help picking a room. We will be at Disney for 3 days and 4 nights. I am only taking my two youngest boys this year 11 and 8. We will not be in the rooms much except our last day after we check out. On this day we will spend the morning at the pool.
I think we would prefer an awesome view over pool distance. But I am relying on you all to help me make that decision! Also, are there any decorations at the resort? Is the water view still the best??
Can you see fireworks from any of the rooms?

Thanks so much!
you all are the best!!

To begin with, there's really no way to request a particular room. You can request a particular building but that's about it. I always request a room on an upper level, facing the lake. So...if you want a pool view, you'll be paying for a preferred room. If you want to see fireworks, you can see some of the higher up ones from IllumiNations, but it really isn't all that terrific. We were in the 50's section, bldg 2, way to the back of the bldg on the third floor. If we walked out of our room, turned left, we were at the stairway down. You could stand there and watch the fireworks each night. But, it shouldn't be a replacement for actually being in Epcot for them...they are just too good to view from that far away.
THe resort is decorated for the holidays.
As far as what area you want to be in, it depends on what you want. Like I said, I prefer being away from all the 'action', so choose to request those upper floors towards the rear of the buildings. Since you're in the room, with no balcony, I wouldn't think view is all that important. In fact, we usually just keep the drapes drawn since we hate all the passersby peeking in our window.

We were at Pop in February of this year. I didn't want to be near the pool because I was afraid our DS8 would be more tempted to want to swim each day even if it really wasn't quite warm enough at 9:00 p.m. each night. We spent each day at the park so swimming wasn't in our schedule until at least after 9:00 each night. Trust me we did swim twice at night and I was freezing when I got out of the pool. We ended up in the 70's section, bldg 9, second floor. When we walked out our door we had the foose ball table in our courtyard. I loved this area. A very short walk to the food court and buses. I didn't mind not having the pool directly out my door. From what I read here on these boards a lot of people say the rooms nearest the pool might be the loudest. We never once had a problem with noice where we were located. In fact, I'm hoping to get the same location for our next trip in February, 2008. :) Have fun planning!!!!!
