Hi everyone - DB & I are *thinking* of planning a New Year trip (or maybe a trip in Dec - since I FINALLY got a postcard - WOO-HOO!), but I'm trying to see what the best price for an on-site resort? I would be staying for 5 nites (possibly 6) - but I want to get a good rate (and I CAN'T stay off property - it just isn't the same for me!) Any suggestions?? Thanks :wave2:

You have to check in by the 25th in order to use any of the codes that are out now.

What check in dates are on your postcard?

I can't seem to locate it right now....but I remember the last check in date (for the code) was 12/19 (too early - my DB's family would never forgive us if we weren't here for Christmas!)

About the only thing you could do is make TWO reservations, back to back, for the same resort. "Superpeak" season starts after Christmas and runs for about a week. They give no discounts during Superpeak. Also, their policy is the rate in effect when you check in is the rate for the entire stay.

I have used back to back reservations in the past; my stay started in "standard" season and ended during "value". I made sure they were aware of the back to back, so I did not have to change rooms. On the first day of value season I stopped by the desk on the way out in the moring, checked out of the standarfd rate reservation and immediately checked in with the value rate. All they did was a new swipe of my credit card and gave new room keys.

On the other hand, we checked in to the Contemporary Tower on December 23, 1999 and checked out on January 3, 2000. Our entire stay was at the Value Season rate with Discount ($240/night) while people who checked in on the 27th or latger would have paid $435/night for the same type room.

Thanks Cheshire, thant's A) interesting and B) what I was afraid of.... So really, I would probably be better off going on 1/1 & staying for 5 nites for a good rate...or do the back-to-back like you suggested. I have to see what's going on...and talk to the DB some more. I figured to go to WDW after our b-days (in Nov.) and after Christmas (so we can get all the Disney Dollars we can as gifts!! LOL) Thanks!

Do you think you could fly out Christmas night?

If so the cheapest onsite would be $49.00 plus tax (AP rate) for a value resort. You could also use the BAT code for $55.00 plus tax.

Without a discount the value resorts are $127.00 per night(this price includes tax.) This is the holiday rate which runs from December 20-31.

If there's any way you could get there by the 25th, you'd save a bundle.

My son and I are checking on December 23. I was able to get the AP rate for our stay.

Thanks for the tip DJ! But I got some great new today! I found out that this project we worked on this summer (DB & I are actors) - is actually paying us $600 EACH (before taxes)!!! (We thought it was only going to be like $100, soooooooo....WOOHOO!! We're talking now about going right after New Year's (maybe like 1/2-1/9) so we can get the discounts they usually give then!! And this extra money will be a BIG help!! :hyper:
