Hi, I'm planning my first trip to disney in december. I have booked crystal palace for 8:05 am breakfast on dec. 7. Do I need to use one of my days on my park ticket to get into character breakfast? Do I need to present my park ticket to get in? like is the breakfast already past the turnstyle or something to actually get into the park?

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to do everything without having to get a park hopper added to my ticket. Since I'm going to be buying a ticket for the seperate mickeys christmas party, that ticket will let me into MK at 4 pm right?? that is going on the same night as character breakfast, dec. 7 but I also want to go back to MK a different night to see the spectromagic parade. So if I don't need to use one of my days on my park ticket to do the character breakfast, I was thinking my plan would be to do the character breakfast at MK, then head over to animal kingdom for the day, then back to MK for the xmas party?? can I do that without a hopper? that way I can use my one day on my ticket for MK on a day when spectromagic is playing? does this make sense?

Also, where does the rope drop take place at magic kingdom? is it before or after you already present your ticket to get into the park?

You will need your ticket to get into MK as Crystal Palace is inside the park. ;)

Unfortunately, you won't be able to go to Animal Kingdom after breakfast without getting the Park Hopper option added to your ticket.

Rope drop usually occurs just after the ticket turnstyles outside the Main Street USA Train Station which is before you enter the MK properly. However, during busier times of the year, guests sometimes get to enter the park but are held on Main Street USA for rope drop. :)

Do I need to present my park ticket to get in? like is the breakfast already past the turnstyle or something to actually get into the park? You need to present your ticket, they will scan it, you will enter the park, walk down main street and go to CP for breakfast.

You would need a park hopper ticket to do this. You need to get into MK with one ticket in the AM. If you don't have the hopper option, you can't go to AK in the same day. can I do that without a hopper? No..see above.

that way I can use my one day on my ticket for MK on a day when spectromagic is playing? does this make sense? I understand what you are saying, but it won't work.

The "Rope Drop" is actually a very nice show at the entrance to the MK..right past the turn-styles where you present your ticket is the best viewing location.

Bottom Line-You need a ticket to get into a park for breakfast. If you do not have a park hopper, you are "stuck" at the park for the day (as if being "stuck" at the MK is a bad thing :)..

My suggestion is to move your breakfast to the day you are going to see Spectro magic. Go to AK the day of MVMCP. You can Def. "do" AK in time to go back to the room and catch a quickie nap, or head right to the MK for your MVMCP.

This is exactly why there's so much angst for park hours to come out - people need to know the park hours so they can book their table-service meals inside the parks that they'll be visiting that day.

You could try to change your Crystal Palace breakfast for a day that you'll already planning to be in the MK, or you could book a character breakfast at a resort, like the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at the Polynesian. The food is good and I think Mickey & Goofy are there too.

thats what I was thinking, switch my adr to a day spectromagic is playing then use my ticket for the xmas party to get into MK and do AK on the same day without having to buy a hopper.

So I heard that the ticket for the xmas party will let you into MK at 4 pm? is that right because the show doesnt start until 7pm after the park closes? how long does the xmas party show last until?

ok, so right now there are only 2 days spectromagic is playing while I'm there on saturday and on monday. I can get sat adr for 8:15 or mon at 9:15. so now I'm not sure which day to pick. I'd like to get in before the crowd gets there so I can get some good pictures, so if I chose the mon at 9:15 would I still be able to get into the park early to get some good pics? Also, should I be avoiding MK on saturday because thats when they'll be filming the xmas day parade?

Yes...your MVMCP ticket will get you in at 4pm.

If you want pictures without the crowds you have to get the 8am ADR. If it's around 9am they won't let you in much before that.

ok so I've switched things around again. I thought to better serve my time in orlando that we would do MK and spectro magic our first day there. we don't arrive in orlando til about 12:30pm but I figure if we get to MK around 2:30 that will give us 5-6 hours at the park before it closes and see spectromagic. Then the next day we'll head back to MK, I just booked adr at crystal palace for 8:15am, and stay that night and do the mvmcp or we can do the xmas party another night. So now we have fri, sat and sun to do the other 3 parks because mon and tues we are going to universal.

So which do you think is a better day to do epcot, hollywood studios and animal kingdom, we have fri, sat and sun to do them.

for those who have been there at christmas time is there any other special going ons that I should be aware of? also for those who stay outside of disney, how long does it usually take to drive to the disney parks? a couple hotels we were looking at say the parks are between 4-7 miles away.

Hi,
Can I ask a question on your topic ?
I'm also planning my first trip in Disney.

I was only wondering if it was possible to get in a park early in morning to have breakfast even if we don't stay in a WDW Resort...

Thanks

yes, you will need park admission, even though you will be allowed into the park early.

Yes, as long as you have a reservation for breakfast. Anyone can make restaurant reservations within 180 days of the date you wish to dine.

You must still have park admission, though.

Personally I would NOT do MK during a day that I have MVMCP tickets for. I think it is a waste of a park ticket. You will be able to do so much at the party with no lines that waiting in lines during the day for the same rides you can ride with no wait at night jsut seems like a waste of $. I would do AK. To us that park is not a full day park if you get there at open.
