i have a chance to buy 150 point at HH for 60/point. how hard is it just to use them at dsiney alone? what i am saying is i would never stay at hh just beach club or okw...you get the idea. please help asap.

thanks

It's not that hard depending on the time of year. What might be harder is actually buying the contract. I'm not sure what Disney is buying HHI contracts at but $60.00 seems low and I'm not sure if it will pass Disney's ROFR at that price.

That really depends...if you have an absolute preference of an on-site DVC resort and want a popular time of year, you may have some trouble. Like the first part of December is very popular for DVCers, and you probably could get in at OKW or SSR (when the resort is larger) without a lot of problem, VWL, BCV or BWV may not have any availability or you may have to waitlist.

If you are flexible with dates, and flexible with resort choices you'll probably be OK. But I'd have to question if the contract you mention would get past Disney without being bought back.

I agree ROFR (right of first refusal) will get you. I think most of the time you can get a WDW resort at 7 months (not Dec 1-14 and christmas and may Easter). However, its hard to say what the future holds. With all the new people coming into Disney Resorts at SSR, it may become much more difficult to book in the future.

Spend the extra $10 per point. There are OKW points for sale for $70 per point if you keep you eyes open and just a little more for BWV. Don't be cheap.

I agree with the other posters that this is probably not going to happen at $60/pt. due to ROFR. Although you may have a friend or relative that is offering you a very good deal...the only one that will benefit from it is DVC when they buy it back.

As for your question about availability at the on-site resorts, a lot of it really depends on when you like to visit WDW. If you plan on very busy times for DVC members like early December, Christmas week, Easter week, etc. you will probably have difficulty at the 7-month mark. Off-peak times shouldn't be a problem if you are flexible about where you want to stay.

The only other things that would throw a wrench in the works is if, at some point, DVC limits ressies to whatever your home resort is. I think this would only happen if they sold the off-site resorts and I don't know enough about it to know if they can legally even do that.

Do your legwork and please return to post the results...good luck!

I disagree go for it!!!

you will only lose some time if DVC buys it back

If you have a problem getting the time you want one year.

Next year offer to trade your reservation at HH for theirs....

HH is very popular during the summer months and you just about have to own there to get it.

So I would think that you would not have a problem trading it.

I am a proud owner of 200 HH poiints and I have only used my points there once!! I have never had a problem with the 7 month window and I enjoy cheaper dues!!

Go for it!!

I just bought at Vero for $65 with 480 banked points and Disney let it go thru. It's worth a shot. Good luck.
