Ok here is the deal. I bought 2 tickets on US Air for our Aug. trip and the flight was perfect leaving at 7:30am and arriving in Orlando at 9:45am. Now US Air changed our flight so we will not be leaving until 10:30am and arriving right before 1:00pm. I called US Air and they said they would refund our money because they changed the flight. Now here is my real dilemma, South West which we have never flown has the perfect flights for us. But they are still alot of money. However the lady at Southwest told me if I rebook them when the price drops they will refund my money. Does anyone know if this is true? Also how often does Southwest change their flights around? I really want to leave before 8:00am in the morning? Also how is Southwest to fly? I was just watching Airline, which I think was a big mistake cause now I am worried about overbooking and what not. I have to call US Air right away and I have no idea what to do.

Thanks in Advance from one worried and confused Diser.

Southwest routinely changes their fares so kep an eye on them. I haven't seen them change flight times though. I have flown them and have never been bumped. Just arrive early and you will have no problem. With that said, I HATE flying Southwest. The routes I frequently travel always have layovers (if your scheduled flight does not or you don't mind a layover disregard this portion) and I hate the wait, it also makes the fare more expensive due to the take off and landing fees that are added. I also hate the cattle call mentality during boarding. I like to know well in advance where I am going to be sitting. Travelling with chidren will allow you to preboard so that takes some of the pain out of it.

With all that said, if the flights fit your schedule I'd book it. I will usualy pay more to fly another airline, although I have found recently that Southwest is not any cheaper. Sometimes on vacation dictates the airline you fly.

Have a fun trip.

We fly SW all the time (3 to 6 trips a year last 8yrs or so) from BWI here in Balto all over.

We have never been bumped and one flight change 15min during the Katrina time when they were scrambling to get thing rerouted around that area.

They don't post their dates until they are set (only downfall IMHO) but the prices are normally stable so that no big deal.

If you book and the prices go lower you get a TTV (ticketless travel voucher) for all but the fully refundable flight. Now that is good for 1 year from purchase date and can be extended for another 6 months.

Now if the flight you booked goes lower and you make no changes other then the price they will most of the times just credit your CC.

Just remember to check-in 24 hour in advance and you will have no problems if the flight is overbooked. They go by ckeck-in when it comes to getting bumped.

We always take an early flight and this trip could have flown down for $39 but didn't want to do the 6:35 am flight. We are doing a 8:something one and will be at BCV by 11 something . Coming home superlate with a $39 flight as well it started out at $79 and has dropped 2 times.

I recommend downloading their DING program as well as it's low prices just through that .
