Currently booked for 6/30 - 7/6 at pop with free dining. (Got lucky and had pin attached). Now the more I think about it the more confused I get. So July trip cost $1743 with free dining (QSDP) and six day base ticket.

I can book moderate for about same price as my July trip with reg dining plan and six day base ticket end of Sept. Plane tickets are bought on southwest so I can change them and airfare is the same.

July trip pros: 4th of July fireworks, only need to take off 4 days vacation, do not have to pull DD out of school. Parks will be open later. Cons: Going to be hot, parks will be a lot busier, rental car probably more expensive.

Sept trip pros: less crowds, reg dining plan(although I like the QSDP better), can switch airline tickets, will not be as hot. Cons: daughter will miss 4 days of school and I will have to use more vacation time, parks will not be open as late.

So what would you do?

Absolutely hands down September. It will be a ZOO :scared1: in July. September is a GREAT time of year to go...you won't need the parks to be open late because there won't be a wait for any rides. If I could go in September I would....and I'm a :teacher:!

Without a doubt, I'd pick September! We love love love Disney but you couldn't pay me to go in July!!!!!

Definitely September, no question. Something new in the DDP Brochure this year states that you can trade TS meals for CS meals if you so choose which may work to your advantage since you like QSDP better.

I always go in late September (if you go in LATE September you can add another pro to your list: MNSSHP! And the fireworks at that party are AMAZING)

I can't tolerate the heat or the crowds, they certainly cancel out longer park hours.

September would be best. Better weather, better crowds..

I know it's hard to take more vacation and harder to have your kid miss school. I read of people pulling their kids out of school to go to Disney quite a bit on here. Some schools only allow a certain amount of unexcused absences a year. I know here in Texas, it's 4. If you just can't see yourself doing either, I don't think the first week of July would be horrible.. My family and I have been multiple times during the first week of July. I've seen worse crowds there later in July. I'm used to the heat since I'm from Texas so it didn't phase us. When we went in July, we were still able to see everything throughout our trip and were able to take a break during the heat of the day if we wanted to and still had time to do the rest. If you get fast passes and plan ahead, I don't see a problem with the crowds. We usually go opposite of the EMH park except for MK when it's open til 1. We do another park during the day, take a rest then head to MK to ride our favorite rides over again.

Obviously, September is a better choice. But, I wanted to put my opinion in on the first week of July. I think anytime after that week, the crowds will get worse. I'm sure I didn't help, but I just wanted to let you know that it's not as bad as it seems that week.

September definitely. July will be awful. We were there this past May and compared to our previous trip in September it was crazy busy. Couldnt imagine how July would be.

Hands down September.... Who needs 4th of July when you have fireworks everyday @ Disney anyways :D And the Halloween Party happens - even more fun

While I'm sure September is better for lots of reasons, for me, one of the things that would matter is what grade my child was in. High school would be out of the question for me, and middle school would be pushing it for four days. Younger than that, I don't think I'd worry about school too much.

I changed my trip to end of Sept to CBR:cool1: Really excited since we have never stayed here before. Last 4 trips we have been at Pop. Love it there but mod will be a nice Change.:dance3:
