We recieved the mail code and can get All Star Sports for $49 a night for 13 nights or we can upgrade to PO Riverside for $94 a night waterview. We have stayed at All Stars before but never a moderate. Is it worth the additional $620 for the POR??? This is for a 10 year anniversary trip, fyi. Thank you so much for any advice!

Everyone has there opinion as to the value of the extra amenitites. We tried to place a value on the amenities we would use and generally come up to $25 or $30 difference for a moderate over a value. So we would choose your $49 Allstar rate.

Because this is a special occasion you may decide to splurge - you have good reason.

13 nights is a long time, have you considered splitting your stay between the two choices - that would allow you to experience two different types of resort, and you would save some money over an entire stay at POR.

Congratulations on your anniversary. Have a great trip.

Yes, it's worth it. You could save a bit by booking a garden view instead of water. Everything there is beautiful to look at. Also, wouldn't you rather spend your anniversary at a resort that caters to adults (as well as children) than one filled with larger-than-life toys? POR is so very romantic you'll be glad you splurged.

Have a great trip!

As you can see, my first three trips I stayed at the All Stars and loved every stay. However after my fourth trip and my stay at POR I vowed never to stay at a value resort again. Your trip is longer than any I have ever taken and I understand how the extra cost adds up. If you can afford it I say splurge and stay at POR, you will not regret it. It's a very romantic resort. They have evening carriage rides around the resort. The landscaping is breathtaking.::yes::

If not I also suggest at least splitting your stay to spend some time there.

I think it is worth it also, I kinda got reprimanded on another thread because I said that the All Star Resorts were kinda noisy, well I think they are , not so much the rooms but the pools etc. A lot of families on budgets stay there and there tends to be alot of children, and to me it is so far away from the parks. I would choose the POR because it is romantic and they do have several pools, including what they consider quiet pools. You can also ride the boats to DD and you are very close to the parks especially the MK. Not only that but PO has recently been redone.

If you can afford the extra money definately go with POR, especially since you are going for 13 days and it is your anniversary. I'd rather go for less days at POR than more days at a value. :D

Thanks so much for all of your help! The water view was only available on the special code, not garden view so that was why I was wondering. I really like the thought of the carriage ride... :)

Ive stayed at POR 2x, then ASMO 3x. I would have a hard time going back to a moderate over a value...and thats not even considering the price. While we enjoyed POR, to us it was just a nice hote. ASMO just screamed Disney to us and we loved that.
Plus $620.00 will be a nice chunk of spending money.

You'd get a split decision in our house. Hubby loves the All-Stars.. really! He thinks they are convenient and offer only services he needs, and it was scrupulously cleaned (squeejied the pool chairs every morning) No need to pay extra for what you don't need is his theory and he's just fine with the theming, particularly the sports resort. He'd rather use the difference in price between POR and All Stars to upgrade his dining experiences, particularly since he just grabs a bowl of cereal in the hotel room.

As for me, I like the POR. I liked having a restaurant and lounge on site, even if I only used it once. I liked the extra bit of space in the room, having a slide in the pool as well as a hottub, and the ability to rent bikes and boats (even if I never do!) I liked the extra atmosphere. I just loved the Alligator Bayou section of this resort. I was really impressed. We took advantage of the Fairy Tale Package last year, so I figured I could upgrade my accommodations and still splurge for lunches and dinners out.
