Every year, there is a week where I work where the employees are "honored" for their contributions. The company will pay for a gift for all employees in the department, but the people who need to "figure it out" are just out of ideas this year. The gift for each employee ideally would be in the $5 to $7 range.

In past years, they've done a Blockbuster's GC (along with microwave popcorn and candy), fleece blankets, logo'd coffee cups, the "fold-up chairs". I am forgetting 2 of the gifts, as this will be my 6th year at this company.

My boss doesn't want to do either gas GC's (because $7 doesn't buy much gas) or a movie GC (because it costs more than $7 to get into a movie.) And, we can't repeat any previous gift.

Does anyone have any great gift ideas for an inexpensive gift? The department has about 100 employees, and covers the purchasing staff, receiving staff, distribution techs, mailroom and patient transporters.

Thanks!

Just bumping this up!

Any ideas???

Small nail care kit. Flashlight with company logo. Water bottle holder.

How about a beach bag, towel, flip flops, beach ball or other fun summer stuff.
Another idea is a soft cooler and add 6 cans of pop with it.

I love the lotto tickets ides, doubt my boss will, she is a little "fuddy-duddy"about that type of stuff.

I probably should have stated that the event week is in October, so unfortunately, summer stuff will probably not go over well.

I do like the soft cooler idea! That might fit into the budget nicely!!!

Here's a cool site with promo items (I've just spent 30 minutes scrolling through the stuff!): Promotional Outlet.

You can search by price range and they have cooler bags, flashlights and alllllll sorts of stuff in your price range. Should give you some ideas, anyway. :goodvibes

It's something that may seem a little off the wall but, is there a way the money could be pooled and donated to a local foodbank, Catholic charities, rescue squad etc.? Perhaps flood or hurricane victims? It's such a small amount for each person that it may be more gratifying that they know it's going to a common cause.

No can do, it has to be a gift. The money can not be re-allocated to anything else.
