I am stumped. Everything that they are asking for my mom has already bought. They really wanted those jibits things, and some jewelry and she has already bought them. my girls already have ipods, nintendo ds', ... I have NO idea what to get them. We usually do one big gift, and my mom does the other little things, since we travel during christmas and aren't home for the holiday.

What are the "in" things right now?

Not sure on budget...my nine year olds asked for an odd mix this year- UGGS and North Face like older kids, and yet, electric scooters and pillow pets...

Other things on their list: new itouch case, vera bradley backpack / vera bradley eyeglass case, Eagles and Raiders jerseys, ice cream maker, yoga ball

Hope this helps you brainstorm.

Since they have ipods, itunes gift cards are great.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was looking at dance dance revolution for my 9 year old. She loves to dance and use the wii.

My 9 year old asked for jewelry (what about a gift card), iTunes money, movies and XBOX dance games.

Her big gift is a huge science kit I am putting together with supplies and an experiment book.

Our 11-year-old niece said she likes American Girl craft kits (they will be on sale tomorrow at Michael's), colored duct tape for making wallets, "some" clothes (clearly she's walking that line between wanting toys and wanting teen things), and an iPod Touch. Her mom also suggested earrings, fun patterned socks, and personalized stationery.

My 11 year old daughter has a small list this year: e-reader, fuzzy socks, aeropostale hoodie, pjs, bath and body works items and gift cards.

How about a nice Jewellery case for their special items or a Soda Stream so they can make their own fizz. They like doing their hair so how about one of those wands to let them curl their hair, also Argos are doing a metal mannequin that you place on your wall and can hang their necklaces etc on.

My girls are 8 & 10, will be 9 & 11 soon. Some of the things they asked for - TOMS shoes, I Tunes gift cards, clothes from Abercrombie Kids (got that done today), Colored duct tape, a surf board & earrings for my oldest who just got her ears pierced this week. Oh, and my younger one wants a Flip type video camera - we may get her the Kodak one that is waterproof and shock proof.

This is a hard age - they didn't ask for much and they already have SO many clothes!

My niece likes a gift card and she and I go shopping together to spend it. We end with a late lunch and it's a fun time for just the two of us:hug:

DD12 is also into gift cards from: Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister's, Starbucks, Smoothie King, Movie theatre and iTunes. As far as video games, I recommend Dance Central 3 and Just Dance 3.

Around here the girls use the colored duct tape to decorate their backpacks :)

The girls use the colored/patterned duct tape to make things like wallets and hair bows. They are $5 a roll so I'm going to use a Michael's coupon and probably get 2 rolls per girl for their stockings.

My dd11 is asking for an iPhone4s, and then some things to go with it (iTunes card, case, portable speakers). She has also asked for Justin Bieber stuff (including his perfume and a calendar), new Crocs, earrings, Just Dance 3, a new comforter she saw on clearance, a gift card to get her nails done, fuzzy socks, a journal and a Webkinz.

You are the third person to mention the duct tape! I've never heard of this. Is is a new thing?

Wow, compared to some of these lists, my kids look extremely sheltered. lol They don't have phones, or go shopping, or get their nails done, or like fancy stores unless its Justice. No wonder they are so hard to buy for!

We are moving across the country on december 17th, so maybe Christmas just seems a bit harder this year.

This is DD10's list:
Barbie Cut & Style Princess doll
Little doll set of Rapunzel, Flynn, horse, comes in a pack that looks like a castle
Barbie Princess Charm School DVD
Barbie A Perfect Christmas DVD
Puss in Boots Wii
American Girl “Doll Dining” Book
Build a Bear red velvet with white fur trim dress
Kirby Mass Attack DS game
Totally Me Mix & Match Watches
Rapunzel singing Barbie
American Girl Emily’s polka dot dress
Geodes to break
Grow crystals kit
American Girl sleepover accessories (has a mini Apples to Apples game!)

She is also getting a tiger Christmas ornament, a digital camera, an iPod dock/boombox, Princess Protection Program DVD, Sticky Mosaics Pretty Cards craft set, t-shirts from Old Navy and Justice scented sprays. I am considering some wall stickers of butterflies, an American Girl sticker book, and some Wii games.

I love to browse Amazon, I find things they never knew they wanted!
