First-timers, age 70. He's American born, grew up with Disney movies. She's Polish, and didn't come to America until she was an adult. She didn't have much childhood, growing up during the war. He was my boss and I want them to have all the fun I can muster.

I would suggest a trip to either Main Street or Downtown DIsney for your shopping. They have a huge selectoin of wonderful items to choose from. I have everything from soaps to Kitchenware to name tags all found from Downtown Disney...they have a good selection of Art, Clothing, toys and Christmas items for all ages!!! DJ princess:

There is a book and DVD about Walt's life - maybe they could be added to the basket.

The name of the book is "An American Original - Walt Disney" I forget who wrote it though. The DVD is similiar (and I believe is also available on video - if he doesn't own a DVD player).

You might also be able to include a video or DVD of a Disney Classic - one that will make her laugh.....Mickey and Gang can bring a smile to anyone's face. :goodvibes

You might also want to find out which resort they will be staying at maybe it is possible for one of the bakeries to make a favorite cookies, cakes, etc. for them to share.

Just a few suggestions, I probably could think of more - as I don't know if they would want to wait until they get off of vacation in order to watch a DVD.

Best Wishes - This is very sweet of you to look into doing this for them,

Jodi

Hey - thought of another one, maybe a couples spa treatment :confused3 Grand Flordian's Spa is fantasic!

Oh question for you - how much were you looking to spend? That might help you in getting more suggestions - Just a thought :goodvibes

Thanks gang! I know where they're staying - Wilderness Lodge - because i'm making all the arrangements for them (we'll be there too, but in the villas) I was hoping to be creative rather than pricey . . .

We always make our own gift baskets... here's some ideas- on the cheap! Main Street is the most expensive way to go...

Use a fanny pack or a beach bucket for the container....

1party napkins for the room with Mickey or??? Target, Walmart, etc.
2disney themed disposible cameras- Walmart or Circuit City
3A wedding frame to sign- go to a character breakfast and have all the characters sign it, get lots of pictures taken by the Disney photo guys and choose the best one to frame
4 beach towel with Disney theme-
5Disney Dollars for spending in the park.. turkey legs, etc.
look at the dollar store, etc. get stickers and make decorated water bottles, etc.
scrap book stores are Great for Disney stuff!

Good luck!

Items to include could be Disney Dollars (anyone would love these!), an invitation for a dinner or Illumination cruise that you arranged and paid for (can you get anyone else to help you pay for this? Perhaps other employees), a Birnbaum Guide for adults and/or dining guide, a DVD and/or book of Walt's life, matching t-shirts or personalized mouse ears, lanyards, Disney photo album, Mickey and Minnie wine glasses, Disney truffles, wine, etc. The list is endless.... A couple of months ago, I had a glass of "Celebration" wine at Spoodles. This may be available to purchase.

Anything they could use on the trip would be a good idea too. Instead of a basket you can put all of the items in a tote bag that can be used for the trip.

Do you know what they like and what they're wanting to experience on the trip? If they have no idea what to expect, the best thing you can do is to prepare them. There is so much to do in such little time =)

I hope these ideas help. Let me know if you would like more! :thumbsup2

Those are GREAT ideas! Thank you! And please - keep them coming, I'll check back!

What a great idea. I can think a few things that I might add....

a hidden Mickey book
a WDW tour book
Crystal Light flavor packets
a water bottle holder
autograph book and pen

Hope you all enjoy your trip.

Don't forget to check the tours, golf, etc. if they would enjoy them. I'm considering taking a tour with a horticulturist at Epcot.

I honestly think the best thing (and it costs nothing) you can do is be a good tour guide. Knowing their interests and helping them achieve the best Disney vacation possible without overdoing it. It should be relaxing and enjoyable while getting in all of the key things they want to do while making them feel like kids again. lol.

This will help give you ideas:

I also wanted to mention PS's during spectacular times such as the California Grill during the fireworks, viewing the Electric Water Pageant and fireworks at Narcoossee's, Cirque De Soleil.

I hope all of this helps!

First-timers should get personalized mouse ears :earsboy: , even if they don't wear them in the parks.

I'm going to agree with the mouse ears (dont forget the names)
everyone needs one no matter the age
