Need fund raising ideas for dance group

Have you considered getting a donation from Each girls family (a new/unused item) And having them Each get donations from local businesses, (gift cards, a free tan, a free lunch etc etc) ...then Craigslist to advertise, word of mouth...etc and hold an Auction.....Place coffee cans with Lids taped on, and a number on it and on the item next to it, place them all on tables covered in pretty Plastic tablecloths....SELL the tickets at the door and Make some $$$... You can sell Drinks/Snacks as well to make additional money....The tickets are cheap at the party place, figure out the Ticket prices to entice people to buy many.... At a certain Time that evening, you pick one number from the can and Wah La people Win their "prize" ....they of course placed half of their ticket in the coffee can ....
you really can make quite a bit with some efforts of getting good items...We have had 2 boys use this method to get their $$ to fund their Entire Eagle Scout projects!
Good Luck! I too think that the kids working (getting the items, set up clean up etc) is better than just asking for money from people...
