Hi. Have a US/Disney trip coming up in the near future. Haven't been able to be online and plan months out like I normally do. Now cramming a bit! We're staying onsite for about a week, will be purchasing the Orlando Flex Pass. Already made a reservation for a Sunday brunch. Are there any other must have reservations I should be making? Years ago during a visit, we really enjoyed Mythos, TchoupTchoup, Bubba Gump and Margaritaville. But I can't remember if we made reservations for them while on our trip or before leaving. Any insight you can provide would be much appreciated!

I decided to make my reservations in advance because it's a bit unpredictable how the new dining plan will impact busyness at restaurants. We have free dining and this deal is also likely to have an impact. I figured better safe than sorry. :confused3:

We usually make reservations the day we are going and are fine. I'm not sure but I don't think Gumps takes reservations at all. If you would feel better reserving ahead, Mythos and both Emerils locations can be done through Open Table, there are links on the Uni web site under the dining section.

They aren't neccessary per se, but no one knows yet how the new dining plan will affect the park restaurants (and some of the citywalk ones).None of the resort restuarants are on the dining plan .I always make dining ressies just to have them .You can make them at Opentable.com
How far out you can make them , depends on the restaurants. Some are several months, some a few months.Bubba Gumps doesn't take any ressies at all

It's so easy to make reservations on opentable.com I know Mythos and Tchoup Chop are on there.

I went on and made our 3 must do reservations just to avoid being shut out. I was concerned that the dining plan might throw a wrench in our plans, so I took the stance of better safe than sorry. :)

I know I'm going to sound really ignorant but what dining plan? I did see one advertised but I thought it wasn't starting until end of Aug/beginning of Sept., around the same tiime WDW's was running their free dining promotion.:confused3

the new dining plan started July 1st.

the meal deal has been around a long time and is different from the new one.

I'm looking at the Universal site and see the free dining, that begins 8/15. Haven't really paid attention to the meal deal since it doesn't involve the restaurants we're interested in.

Do you have a link to the new dining plan? The dining plan I saw involving free dining involved Universal partner hotels. Maybe there's another for Universal hotels?

TIA!!!!
