We are traveling Nov 6. About a week or so ago, I did the online form for ME. The same day I wrote to MS requesting extra tags. This was the answer.....

Please contact Member Services by phone or email 30
days prior to your arrival date and we will be happy to request an
additional luggage tag for each Guest. We appreciate your understanding.

It just seems odd to me the 30 day time frame. So is this correct?

They apparently can't override the number of tags to be sent, so they want you to call after the initial mailing is sent out.

I'd give it a week or so to make sure your ME reservation has been placed. Then I'd call the Magical Express group directly to request the extra tags. You can google the TN or ask on the Transportation Board. I'm sure those folks know it. :)

Worst case, bring them your bag check receipts from the airline and they will still bring them. You don't HAVE to have the yellow tag.

The direct number for DME is: (866) 599-0951. They can only help you after DVC has placed your DME reservation.

Other than the initial setup request with DME, it is always best to just call DME directly. If you need additional tags, have last minute changes, or find you suddenly need transportation to the airport that you hadn't planned on, DME is the only team that can actually help you. DME is really a stand-alone entity (technically it's Mears, contracted to Disney). As such, none of the Disney Customer Service groups you normally interface with (including Member Services, CRO, and the front desk at your resort) are able to do anything directly for you in regards to DME - all they can do is send a request the DME on your behalf.

When you book a room on-line, DVC or otherwise, if you want to take advantage of DME, you fill out a form which is forwarded to DME. If you call, MS or CRO fills out the same form for you and sends it to DME. Neither MS nor CRO have direct access to DME's system. This is one of (likely the primary) reasons that you can't see your DME reservation on any of Disney's sites or apps. DME obviously has some access to Disney's reservation system since they can look you up if they need to, but that's about the limit of sharing.

The good news is that in my experience, DME has been exceptional in the customer service department the 3-4 times I've need to call. Always pleasant, super helpful and very efficient.

Yup - CALL... no way around it. ME is a contracted service. It is run by MEARS, who tend to be VERY helpful.....

The direct number for DME is: (866) 599-0951. (Thanks Disneynutz) :).

I also asked for extra tags about a week after my initial DME request through MS. I received an envelope stating "extra tags". I never received in my originals. LOL
