Anyone who's been during Memorial Day weekend have some advice on what park which day?

We were planning to go to AK on Friday, none on Saturday (because we assume it'll be crowded everywhere), Epcot on Sunday, and MK on Monday. Good plan or not?

We've got the length of stay passes that begin on Friday and go through Friday (June 4), so we can tour in the morning, take a break, then go back at night. I'm just not sure what the wisest plan is to get through the holiday weekend.

Also, should we switch parks after the midday break to take advantage of lower crowds at the non-EE parks? I really don't like the idea of switching (seems like it would be a bit overwhelming), but am willing if it makes a big difference in crowds.

Any advice you guys can give will be much appreciated!:wave2:

First of all, the crowds surrounding memorial day are probably on par with some of the other peak times of the year, so you shouldn't limit yourself to only those folks who have been then.

The great thing about the length of stay passes is that you have the ultimate in flexibility. So you can even go to a theme park for a portion of the day and a water park for a portion of the same day (or park/DisneyQuest, etc.).

I'm not sure why Saturday will be any more crowded than Sunday or Monday of that weekend. In fact, Sunday probably has a greater likelihood of being crowded than Saturday as more people may be using Saturday as a travel day. Also, FYI, a lot of the guide books I've read indicate that Monday tends to be one of the most crowded days for MK.

Another thing to consider is that you won't know what Disney will do about their EMH program after the test period has concluded, so it is very difficult to plan for this. We are in WDW starting tomorrow and my entire plan was shot when they changed the program - we were going to follow the strategy of going to the EMH park in the morning, taking a break in the afternoon and switching parks after the break.

As for switching, there's no reason it should be overwhelming. Ultimately, if you're going back to your room for a break, what's the difference between returning to the original park or going to a different one? Only that the mode of transportation may be different.

At the end of the day, I think I would recommend mixing stuff up a little on the holiday weekend..maybe some water parks, some DQ, hit the theme parks for the fireworks, etc. Take full advantage of your UPH passes and have a great trip!!!

If you are taking a mid-day break, then DEFINITELY switch to an non-EE park after that. We will be there on Fri May 28-Mon-31st. I would not bother with the MK until after the weekend-by Monday afternoon you should be okay. I would go to a park on Sat- maybe finish up AK or go to MGM for EE or Epcot. Definitely break for a swim! Have fun!
