Well, we were booked to stay at WL, but now it looks like we switching to AKL. We plan on having a nice dinner out and leave DD with her grandparents one night, and we currently have reservations at Artist Point. But now with the change in resorts, I'm wondering if we should rethink AP.

We won't have a car, so bus is the only option. Or maybe a cab?
I was really looking forward to the Artist Point salmon. :)
Should we try Jiko since it's at our resort?
Would it be hassle to get to WL from AKL?

I can't decide! Help!

I love both Artist Point and Jiko, with a slight edge given to Jiko. If you do decide to stick with Artist Point, I would take a cab. It would take quite a while to get there via bus (no direct bus service between resorts)

I definately prefer Jiko to AP. We ate twice at AP when we stayed at the WL and the food (salmon and mushroom soup) was excellent. While staying at the AKL we ate at Jiko and it topped AP. The service, atmosphere and food were spectacular. I wouldn't go out of my way to AP, since you're staying at AKL, GO TO JIKO!!!

I have to agree-Jiko is the better choice. And they happen to have a filet of Wild King Salmon on the menu!!

Try the corn chowder and the watermelon vinagrette salad. THey are both outstanding!

We ended up eating at Jikos twice last week because we liked it so much!

Jiko is probably our favorite WDW restaurant, with Boma a close second. However, we've yet to try Ohana, even though we stay at the Poly. We plan on trying it next year.

Since you're already at AKL I'd choose Jiko. It was the best meal of our trip last time.

I would switch your ADR to Jiko. We just came back last month from our first stay at AKL and we just loved it. It was so nice to go down to dinner from your room and not have to leave the lodge. We just love Jiko, it is our favorite restaurant at WDW. We also ate at Boma while we stayed at the lodge and we enjoyed it too.

I can't comment on AP (never been), but we also loved Jiko. DH had the halibut and I had the filet. He said his was awesome, and mine melted in my mouth. Especially staying at AKL, Jiko is awesome. You can start (and/or end) the evening at Victoria Falls (the lounge above Boma), and just really enjoy yourselves.

We did do a resort to resort for dining one night and found that a cab was a better option for us that night. So if you keep the AP ressie, then take a cab. The $ are well worth the lack of aggrevation for a bus transfer.

We have done both Jiko and Artist Point several times and I also give Jiko a nod. But depending on your mood, I can see why Artist Point could be a better choice.

If you do decide to go to Artitst Point from AKL,a taxi would be the best bet. It would be about 15 dollars each way as opposed to the buses which will be an hour each way.

Go to Jiko. It is such a wonderful experience and you don't have to travel to get there! Good luck and have a great vacation :flower:

Another vote for Jiko - we think it's the best on site.
