I would like to buy a good Canon digital camera before our upcoming Disney cruise. We currently have a Kodak Easyshare, and it's very disappointing.

Let me forewarn you...I am completely ignorant about megapixels, shutter speed...well, everything. The only thing I really want in a digital camera is the ability to point & shoot. I can't tell you how many times I've missed one of my niece's smiles because the stupid camera takes too long to take the picture.

I've done a little research, and have narrowed it down to two:

The Canon Powershot A410, and the Canon SD30 (which is relatively new on the market). Both have been rated "excellent" for shot-to-shot delay (as long as you don't have the camera set to review the pics).

Many of you have posted beautiful pictures, so I was hoping to get some opinions from "real" people instead of internet ratings.

You need to get a fast memory card to go in it. SanDisk Ultra or Lexar 80X. The best way to tell how fast a camera is is to go to a camera store and try them out. Take rapid fire pictures. All digital cameras have some delay. If you do test them, make sure you use the same memory card in both cameras.
