I was one of the folks caught up in the POFQ closure and due to the low discount code rate $74 I haven't been offered an upgrade. The people paying higher rates are offered upgrades first which makes sense. Anyhow, my TA talked to Dsiney and they suggested I change my ressie to Coronado with possible upgrade later, but change to insure my $74 rate.

Where should we stay at Coronado? I'd like to be as close to the food court and pool as possible. Probably would like a place that would be between to two so it wouldn't be too far from either, and not too far from a bus stop. Is there such a place. Looking at the map Casita's building 4 looks to fill that bill any thoughts?

Cabanas 9B is your best choice for location closest to both the Dig Site and the main area (lobby, Pepper Market, etc.). Another good location is Cabanas 8A - right next to Dig Site and a bus stop, but a little farther of a walk to the main area.
We love Coronado - hope you enjoy it too!:D

I agree with grumpyandbashful. My family and I stayed in the Cabanas section and really enjoyed our stay. It was pretty close to the pool, El Centro bus stop and front desk/food court. I think the pool is the best of the moderate resorts. We liked it so well that we plan on returning in December.

Hi Bob!

Glad to hear you will be staying at Coronado! I hope you love the resort as much as I did. Last summer we stayed in Casitas 2 which was a great location. It was central to the El Centro building as well as the Dig Site main pool. Our room was also two steps away from the Casitas quiet pool, which was so convient! The resort gym, salon, and Casitas laundry room are also right near the quiet pool. As the other posters have said, the Cabanas are a great choice too. I would stay away from the Ranchos if you want a central location. We did stay in the Ranchos section because we extended our stay, and while it was close to the Dig Site, it was far off from the food court. The walk got old after awhile. If you have time, please check out my CSR review! It will give you more info on the room location in Casitas 2, as well as everything else about the resort! Oh! and your choice of Casitas 4 is a good one too!

Hello,

The buildings previously mentioned (8A & 9B) are both good choices. Building 1 is also a nice choice, and in inclement weather you can walk to the main building without ever leaving cover, due to the covered walkway. I'd avoid the Ranchos, as they are quite a hike from the main building. I've stayed at CS twice, and it is a bit nicer than the other moderates. I am also staying there next month, and hoping for one of those buildings. The CS also has a fitness center, which none of the other moderates have, which my daughter really enjoys.

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Bill

Our choice is Casitas #3. We have stayed in the Cabanas 8B & 9B and find Casitas to be better for us. My DH seem to think you do a lot of back tracking of walking in the Cabanas. Example when your in the Cabanas and you want to go get something to eat before leaving for the parks, you walk past bus stop #1 to the Pepper Market, when done, you walk back to the bus stop #1 to go to the parks. When you come back and the kids want to go to the arcade for awhile you get off at stop #1 again, walk to the arcade when done you have to walk past the same bus stop again going back to your room. When you stay in Casitas you walk to the Pepper Market, when done you walk to bus stop #1 without backtracking. Coming back from the parks get off at #1, stop at the arcade then proceed to your room in the Casitas without back tracking.
According to my DH, you do alot of walking any way in DW, why do unneeded walking back and forth. This is his reasoning for staying in the Casitas vs the Cabanas.

I'm also trying to decide which location for our Memorial Day/25th anniversary trip.
Do they have elevators in the Casitas buildings?

I agree with all the posters above but done get your hopes up so much so that another location ruins your vacation. Any of the cabanas are good, even ranchos 7b because it is right behind 8a. Close to the bus stop and pool and about a 5-7 min walk to the food court. But whatever room you end up with, enjoy CSR. It truely is a great resort.

Check out my CSR website below.

thanks for the input. After reviewing in my mind the previous trips we've taken, proximity to the main pool and bus stop is the main objective, we don't visit the food court nearly as often as the pool and buses. I stll don't won't to be as far away as the Ranchos though. I'm thinking of trying to get the Casita's close to the pool. I'll be pleased wherever though, looks like a beautiful place and $74 a night is outstanding, I spent $25 more a night last visit for All Star Music..BOB

$74 a night at CSR IS VERY GOOD. I can't imagine you will be disappointed -- esp for the $.
I am glad I booked CSR in January already. Between the marathon and FQ, I am sure the rooms are, or will be, booked solid soon.
Even 2 - 3 weeks ago, Dagny at DU was only able to get us waterview at CSR for January.

Thanks so much for the replies.
Buzz, your website is great and I look at it often.

When I told my husband I had decided on CSR, he said, "Don't forget to pack plenty of moleskin!"
:p

No matter what I do, I always have foot problems at DW.
I try to plan accordingly. I can't even remember exactly which area we stayed in at CSR last time but it WAS a hike to the main area...and the bar.
;)

Maybe I'll just request close to the main area and a quiet pool. I'm also going to get a manicure and pedicure, so maybe Casita 3 would be good! I would think that a higher floor would be best in the Casitas.

We usually drive our car while at DW, but the bus does take you from CSR to Boardwalk? Then on the return trip, the bus makes a stop at Downtown Disney before going back to CSR? I am pretty sure I read that on one of your posts.

Although we have stayed at CSR twice, we were traveling with other families both times. I seem to have blocked it from my memory ;) and I'm excited to be staying there for our anniversary.
I told my husband they have "Terra Burst" in one of the game rooms, he LOVES that!
:p

Once again, thanks so much for all the great information and photos!

We were in Castias 5 and loved the location. Just 2-3 minutes to the bus stop, 2-3 minutes to the main pool, and about 4-5 minutes to the food court.

The casitas are really beautiful (well actually the whole resort is) and we really enjoyed just walking around the resort and seeing what we could discover.

Becka - great picture!

Have you tried deorderant on your feet, not the spray kind. It is supposed to help. Or nylons under your socks. They sell the peds type nulons you can slip on. Helps eliminate blisters

Especially if you have a water view.

It's gone all together according to Tyler (a CM in transportation). I used it in November 2002 but he told me its now gone. That was a great perk.
