We had to replace the hard drive in the kids computer and now we can't get their internet to work. Their computer links to a router through a cat5 cable. All the other computers work fine, but not theirs. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems we have tried everything and I've been on hold for over 30 minutes with Netgear for tech support. I also checked out their website, but it wasn't all that helpful.
Any ideas???
Thanks!!

Have you double checked all of the cables....If you are on a router, you may be on a work group within your home network...you mentioned that the hard drive was changed. When windows was reinstalled, you probably were put on a different workgroup than the other computers...thats why the router doesnt "see " you. You may have to check that out

It would help immensly if you tell us what version of Windows you are using. Or maybe it's a Mac? If you are using Win98: right click Network Neighborhood, click Properties, under Configuration: left click once (to highlight) on TCP/IP->'whatever Fast Ethernet Adapter you're using', then click Properties, on the Properties tab: make sure "obtain an IP address automatically" is checked, click OK. Reboot. If that doesn't do it, let us know

You also need to be sure that any software required by your ISP was reinstalled when the hard drive was replaced and that you have a current browser version.
