Yet again, we'll be staying at WDW over Christmas. Last year, we made two mistakes. One, we attempted to do all of our shopping in Orlando. Two, we bought waaayyy too much (which we do every year even though we swear we won't). The kids were more interested in getting to the MK than in opening the presents we agonized over purchasing. Anyway, we decided that this year we would like to do small gifts each day and one or two big gifts on Christmas Day. We've never gotten a Pal Mickey, so I thought I'd have one waiting in the room for the kids. On the first day we go to Epcot, I want to have Passports ready for the kids. Light up toys are always a hit with my 3 kids as are Princess dolls with my dd. Oh, BTW, my older ds is 14, younger ds is 6, and dd will be 4 right before our Chrismtas trip. They've made many trips to the World. What else would be good?

Sounds like a great plan!!!

My kids are 12 and 7, and we're coming back just before Christmas (12/23), after a 10-day stay. I'm seriously considering sending a letter to them from Santa (my older one will get it) with 2 Visa gift cards saying that he knows they're going to Disney and that he thinks they'll have more fun picking out what to buy than opening toys at home (we'll still do stockings). All of our family's from out of town, so the kids will get bunches of gifts (although, come to think of it, they may not arrive in time for the big day......uh oh...plan B).

Our favorites are pins, t-shirts, hats, beach towels, and like you said, the light up toys and the passport to Epcot. My kids also love the pressed penny machines...we gave them a tri-fold plastic Disney holder that you can buy for them, with shiny pennies and change. They love hunting for the machines and have a cute collection.
I don't know if they still have them, but Animal Kingdom had a passport just like Epcot.
We always give our kids disposable cameras for each trip as well.
Sounds like it will be a really fun time! It must be really cool to do a holiday there!

Oh, and I forgot, Christmas ornaments and a mini photo album for them each to put their pictures in as well! :)
