Suggestions please. We probably will not be using this stroller too much after Disney as DD is 3. We have a stroller we took last year, a Graco something or other, which was great for storage space but too bulky for the buses.

So I need a few things:

It has to be cheap
It has to have storage space
It needs to recline and have a shade
and most important it needs to be lightweight.

THANKS!

I LOVE the stroller we bought last year for Disney. It is a Kolcraft umbrella stroller that has a storage bag, a good shade, and reclines. It folds up small, is lightweight, and has really comfy handles at a good height. It also has a cupholder :)

I bought it on Amazon.com for $35 last year.

Hope this helps.

Any umbrella stoller. That is what I used for all of them. Most umbrella strollers you can get for around $10. If you want some extras such as a shade or for it to recline back you will pay a little more. Just check even at WalMart or Kmart they general have the cheapest end ones. That's where I picked ours up at. They take up very little room andare light weight and easy to carry. I always hate it when someone brought one of the cadillac of strollers onto the buses or boats and it had to take up a seat or sit in the middle of the isle. So after our first trip with my son when he was 1 I made sure we had an umbrella stoller.

Also as a tip on umbrella stollers. Most of them are very common so others in WDW parks will have the same stroller so put something permanent on it to signify yours. I.E. write name in permanent marker on it somewhere; sew something into the material to make it look different; put some special stickers on it.

My son on the second trip started putting the stickers he collected from CM's all over it. Then we tied something to the handle so we knew it was ours also because over the years we noticed others putting stickers on theirs as well.

At babys r us they have one for $20 with the shade and storage its an umbrella type and it comes in cool colors Blue pink and green in pastels. No crazy trains or flowers very nice.

We bought a Safety First Acella Stroller because my son would also sleep in the stroller and I wanted it to recline. It has a shade, reclines, decent size basket underneath, snack tray for the little one, folds easy, light weight, and best part - it was under $50.00 Umbrella strollers are cheap, but flimsy and generally do not recline. I'm also tall and could not push an umbrella stroller all day.
I have 2 minor complaints about the Acella - there are 3 "parent" cup holders, but 2 are useless as they are not even big enough to hold a water bottle. Also, the kids tray does not swivel, it either has to be removed to get in/out or you can leave it attached and just lift them up and over.

It's been on 2 week long trips to WDW and has become my "regular" stroller.

Now, here come the "you have to get a Mac" posts...

Nah, I'm a huge Mac fan, but it wouldn't be worth it if the kiddo is 3 and WDW is the only time it would be used. (Unless the OP likes to sell on eBay or Craig's list, in which case she can easily recoup the investment if she shops carefully.)

What I would recommend is a Chicco Caddy or Capri. They have larger wheels and will handle well with that much weight, are very light aluminum, recline, and have a shade. Not much storage, but I don't recommend using the stroller basket in the parks anyway; use a lightweight backpack and hang it over the handles; that way you can grab all your stuff easily when you park the thing or need to fold it for a bus or tram. They also have good resale value if you want to sell it later. The Chicco C6 is also a possibility.

We get ours at Target for about 40. It reclines, has shade, and storage underneath and they are lightweight. We have used for the last 3 WDW trips, 1 Seattle trip, and 1 WY trip. It doesn't look brand new but still works great. The best part if it get lost are broken we don't care.

We bought a BabyTrend Lite stroller - it has good storage, reclines, and has a good sunshade. Folds easily one handed and clips shut - lightweight. My complaints are are the seat is short & when DD naps it looks like she might slip out. It "drives" a little rough & I feel like DD2 feels the bumps. But for a Disney trip I think it would be fine. DD2 is 37" and weighs 32 lbs so shes a big 2 year old.

I also have the Baby Trend stroller, purchased at Babies R Us for about $35. It has good under storage, reclines, has umbrella cover and also has easy, snap-on cup holders. One snaps into place in front of the seat and has a tray...excellent for small snacks and holds an average size sippy cup. The second one snaps onto the middle/top and has two cup holders which work perfectly for a bottle of water/soda or other. It folds easily and can be lifted with a good fit for the trams, that you ride on to get to and from your car. I purchased a second one last week as my DGD is joining us for her first WDW Trip with brother, mom, dad and Me(grandma). I also carry a mini bungee cord to use so the stroller doesn't pop open getting it on/off trams and in/out of car. Have a blast!

The stroller questions...with 4 kids I sure have wrestled with those :lmao:

Not to be one of those people, but our current stroller is a Mac. It fits our needs perfectly for dd 2.

I just wanted to say that the stroller posted by the OP is far heavier at 18.8 pounds than I would be comfy with in a "lite" stroller category. Be sure to try out that weight stroller at a local store to be certain you feel comfortable with it.

okay, I'll save my MAC praises (but do check out other stroller threads on these boards!) but had to post and say, I purchased that babytrend one, it was useless for us. The seat is way to shallow and both my kids (1.5 and 3.5 at the time) looked like they were about to fall out at anytime! It was uncomfortable for the 3 year old and he wouldn't ride in it after a few times.
wasn't that lightweight either. jmo of course.

the umbrellas at BRU do not push well after the first 10-15 miles logged on them in my experience.

years ago, we used a graco travel lite I think it was called. a bit lighter weight than a full size with all the extras OP was looking for but after having our macs there is just no comparison, opps! sorry ;) wasn't suppose to go there!

happy hunting, only Disney and it's miles and miles of walking could turn a perfectly normal Mom into a fanatic I promise you! I even spent oodles of time chatting on boards with city parents to get their opinions on strollers:lmao:

I agree with the not needing a jumbo basket tho, since you are empting it out over and over again in the parks, just as easy to have a backpack.

Ok Gosh, now you guys have me looking at this one...Is this worth $129? a good stroller for Disney?

Combis would fit that bill as well. Very light, easy to fold up, pretty good recline.

I still say just a regular umbrella stroller. The others are not convenient for taking on buses. Also consider how quickly they are to fold up etc. I know we have waited many times for people trying to fold up strollers. When all we had to do is kick your foot up under the locking bar, flip up and go. Yeah height isnt as good, but I (5'4") would just push it most of the time instead of hubby (6' 3") and if they fell asleep I would hold my right arm down to my side and hold just the one handle and push that way. It holds the stoller back some. I also agree on the basket. NO BASKET. Take Backpack and hang over the back of the stroller. Test that out also when considering stroller and backpack combination. Sometimes you have to adjust backpack to make sure it does not drag and if you do that and can't get back on you back, it gets to be a pain. So make sure you get a back pack after the stroller that works well with the stroller you have. The backpack on the back of stroller also makes it easier to get stuff in and out. Baskets you have to bend way down to get things. Backpack on back, just open pouch and reach in, usually not alot of bending and fumbling. When I went on your first link on Amazon it showed a pink umbrella stroller at the bottom for similar items and it is very nice and appears to have longer handles and is very similar to the one you showed at $129 but is only $31. For $31 it looked nice and comfortable to me and also comes in a neutral grey if you didn't want pink, but the grey is $1 more????

The Inglesina Trip is a SUPER umbrella stroller with a canopy, recline, very light, 5 point harness, storage underneath... Easy to maneuver. Folds up small and has a carry handle even!!!

I LOVE mine and it's slightly cheaper than a MAC.

This is the exact stroller I bought one year ago. I loved the design, how it handled and the smooth ride for DD2 (1 at the time). But I have to tell you I bought the Baby Trend a couple of months back because I couldn't imagine bringing this to Disney. If you have only one child and shes 3 it would probably work great. There is hardly any storage w/this stroller. For me thats a huge disadvantage as we have 3 kids and I have to bring extra clothes, etc. for each one of them and there just isn't any room to store what I need. Now perhaps I should bring less but I really have cut down my "needs" to the bare essentials and I still can't fit the backpack in. Some people buy the Mac organizer for the back to make up for lack of storage and this leads to my number one complaint - tipping.

The tipping issue is horrible. We went shopping at the mall once w/this stroller and DD2 was riding and I had stuff in the storage basket and there was no room for our purchases so I hung them off the handles along w/my purse - not heavy bags either. Well as soon as DD2 climbed out the whole stroller went crashing backwards to the floor - very embarassing. At least DD2 was not hurt. So if you can rearrange everything prior to the child getting out it should be ok. But w/me having 3 kids I need to be watching them not rearranging my packages.

The sunshade is lacking - I bought a Rayshade to extend the sunshade which is ok I guess. I don't mean to be so negative but I was so excited to buy this stroller and thought it was the answer to our stroller dilemma. It was not but again I have 3 kids and have the stuff of 3 kids to carry so our situation is different. I think if you have only one child or older kids (who dont need a change of clothes, etc.) w/one young child it would be a great stroller. Plus it doesn't have cup holder/tray for parent or child which you can buy these but it ends up to being quite an investment plus you'd need to carry a bag just for the stroller accessories.

I still have our Mac Quest and will keep it & use it once DD2 is potty trained and older so I don't need to bring all kinds of stuff w/us. DD4 loves this stroller and its weight capacity goes up to 55lbs which is a plus.

We bought a Kidco off of Ebay for about $70 last summer. I LOVE IT. I really can't say enough good things about it. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore, so you'd have to buy one off of ebay.

Here is some pics of my son. It has adjustable handles, storage, folds like an umbrella. Its comparable to a mac or peg perego.

We attached a backpack to the handles and it supported the weight great without my son being in the seat....even with a laptop in it!!!
