Looking on Travelocity tonight and found some really great deals for the first part of our trip. It would be for myself and my 4 youngest who are 5, 7, 9 and 10. I would love to hear from anyone who is familiar with any of these hotels about safety, cleanliness, etc. We will be driving so I am not too concerned about the drive to the parks as long as we are in a good area.
Ramada Gateway
Days Inn I Drive
Travelodge Kissimee Maingate
Howard Johnson Maingate East
Suites at Old Town

Thanks!

I haven't experienced it myself but I have heard people say stay away from the hotels/motels at Old Town, lots of bad things said about that area.

I wish I could help you more but my only experiences have been at Disney's value resorts. I am planning a short 5 night trip to Universal and I have been scouring info and reviews at Tripadvisor.com I have also been looking at Hotwire.com, there are good deals but you are not aware of the actual hotel until the transaction is complete and you have paid for the entire stay. They have 2.5 star hotels (which would be Days Inn and other similar hotels) for $29 a night and 3 to 3.5 star hotels from $40-75 per night, you just have to be willing to take whatever it is. It does however tell you what the average rating is of the hotel on tripadvisor and what the amenities are and some similar brands it will likely be.

Hope this helps
Kim
