Need Cars Land Strategy Help

Some may know better than me, but I believe Tuesdays are magic mornings for people with park hoppers. They get one with each hopper. I think there would also be EE for some people as well but don't know which one.
Am I somewhat right?
still learning the ropes as well:)

In DL, yes, but not CA.

So it sounds like RSR is still breaking down a lot...I was hoping that problem would have been resolved by now. Anyone know if it still breaking down every morning at opening?

The ride is ridiculously reliable. Many of the breakdowns are due to stupid guests, which does cause the ride to go into complete E-Stop and shut down for an hour.

So Tuesday would be a magic morning for anyone with a park hopper at DL, but what about EE for AP's or hotel guests. Will either apply as well?

Tuesday,Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are early entrance days for AP holders into DCA. Early entry for DL resort hotel guests are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at DCA.

So that means AP holders will be there early our day. Does anyone know which brings more early entrance users, the APs or the DL resort hotel guests?

From what I have read the AP is less attended - but I think now hotel guests get it every day....

my plan is to go on a monday, we will forgo fp and go stright to cars land and wait for our turn. we plan on being past security by 7 or so and in line to get in the gates early, from what ive seen we would be held at Bv street and when it hits 8am walk with the cast members to carsland and rsr.

On the way by if we can get fp for one the other rides we may grab them on the way in well send me or dh to grab them while one of us get in line for rsr.

Does anyone know how it's set up, how hard is it to make your way into the RSR line if someone is waiting in line already and you're late joining them?

In my opinion, very hard. I am not comfortable pushing my way through lines, so that is the perspective I am coming from...I know others feel differently. The line winds back and forth on itself quite a bit so that when you are 1/2 way through the line you have been through many switchbacks toward the far side of the attraction. I can only think of one spot where you could more easily meet your group and it is closer to the front of the ride, about where SR and FP joins in the line.

So, what are these stupid guest doing? :)

Yes, please tell me so I'm not the stupid guest that shuts down the ride for an hour.

Don't stick you hand out side the car or you will set off a sensor and stop the ride. Easy stuff however it is down alot because of that. Also when I went 2 weeks ago the sherrif car in the tunnel wasn't working was down an hour to fix it.

Things like exiting on the wrong side of the vehicle. Then deciding its okay to cross the track - with an electrified slot - instead of simply waiting for a CM's instructions. Or sticking their hands way far out, setting off e-stop sensors. This type of stuff happens daily.

Another common problem actually has to do with the electrical grid. The city's outdated electrical grids sometimes send out power surges to various parts on the grid. A TV or lamp will think nothing of it, but for large, high tech attractions, the computers will, as a safety precaution, sometimes halt the ride.

One minor thing and it takes usually an hour to restart. And, unfortunately, some of the higher tech audio animatronics like Sheriff sometimes take longer to reset, so might sometimes be in B mode when the ride starts running again.

We were there the last week of June and rode on Tuesday and Wednesday. We arrived at 7:40 on Tuesday and had fastpasses in hand by 8:20. Wednesday, we arrived at 7:45 and didn't have fastpasses until 8:45 with a 2 hour difference in return times. There were a lot more people in line by 7:45.

I would try to be in the park no later than 7:45. It is one of the best attractions I've ever experienced.

On the upside, I waited for fp while the family walked onto California Screamin' and Tower of Terror. Then we switched and we walked onto Soarin'.

Thanks for all of the great info about EE/Rope Drop/RSR FP's, etc...

We are heading out the 2nd week of October, and I'm trying to read up on other's experiences to develop our new "game plan" since the opening of CL has totally changed the strategy!

Any thoughts on how to work TSM into this? That used to be our "run to 1st thing in the AM" ride, since there are no FP's for it...

How does one work TSM into the DCA morning plan now that CL is open?

Thanks!

TSMM was practically a walk on at 8 am when we did EE for Carsland.

Thanks DaneenM...
unfortunately, I forgot to mention that we will just be "commoners" for this trip in October... :-( (we're not eligible in any way for any MM/EA/anything...so we can't knock out CL during EE and then head over to TSM when the park opens to everyone else...)

We'll be there with the rest of the world (albeit 1st in line at the security tables when the sun rises!) when the park opens to the masses...

I think we'll try to definitely hit DCA on a Thursday, when no hotel guests will be eligible for a EE either...? Hopefully that will help a bit...(and I'm hoping the EE for AP holders will be over with by then (in October)

Any thoughts?
Thanks!!

Just got back from DCA last week. If you want to get FP's for Radiator Racers at all, you will need to get to DCA for the park opening.

There is an entirely separate line to the left of the main area where people with congregate for rope drop. This is a FP only line. You will want to send someone from your party into this line. It is very organized, and takes about 20-30 minutes for a person to get through the line for FP's. When we were there last week, park opening was at 8 AM each day. FP's were completely gone by 9 AM each day, and really only went to people that got in this line.

Other than the FP line, you can move with the crowd to Cars Land after rope drop. It's the usual cattle heard that you're used to, especially if you have been to DHS for Toy Story Mania at opening. We attempted to have the rest of our party get directly onto Radiator Racers from rope drop, but on both days, the wait was already up to about 60 minutes. Keep in mind that RSR is as slow loading as Test Track, so they can't just put a ton of people on at the beginning of the day.

If you don't mind waiting 60 min or more right from rope drop, then head right to RSR. On both days we were there, we opted out of that line and went on Luigi's Tires and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree instead. There was little to no wait at rope drop for these, and the both get very busy later in the day.

Thanks for that info Benjo! Great to hear back from someone who has just experienced the CL/RSR craziness firsthand...! Much appreciated!
