Need car when we leave Disney

We are going on a cruise next winter and have decided to fly into Orlando for a few days before we go to Miami for the cruise. What is the best way to go about renting a car for the drive to Miami. Would it be easiest to rent at the airport when we come in? I really don't want to pay for a car we won't use while we're at the World. We will probably stay at POFQ, but not sure yet.

You can rent a car from Alamo or National at the Dolphin or the Car Care Center near the MK.
