I need some budget valentine gift ideas. I teach 4 year old kindergarten, and my sons are 3 and 5. My 5 year old has several teachers that he wants to give a small gift to. I need some cute inexpensive ideas for the kids too.

Last year I got most of my ideas from Family Fun magazine and from their website.

Probably the cutest idea I made last year was Family Fun's kernels of love Valentine: http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/kernels-of-love-671630/

It looks like a movie theater popcorn box and says To a pop-pop-popular Valentine/Teacher/Friend. It was really easy to make and well received - I think people appreciated getting something besides candy.

I also made Family Fun's rock candy: http://familyfun.go.com/valentines-day/valentines-day-cards/rock-candy-675037/ for my nephews. It looks like an ipod made from a box of conversation hearts and peanut butter cups for the ear buds.

Have fun!

A friend of mine is a teacher and for Christmas she got a cup from Starbucks that had the paper liner decorated with stickers. Inside was a giftcard. She was happy to have a free coffee on the way to school, and equally excited to not have another mug or candle. :)

Target's Dollar Spot has a ton of affordable Valentine's Day items for kids and teachers alike. I particularly liked the foam words they had today and the 8 pack of mini clothespins.
