Hi there,
I need some suggestions (with recipes please :flower: ) for brunch ideas. No lobster or anything pricey :cool1: The deal is that DSs are singing in church this Sunday, service ends at 11:30 and then DD is performing in the Christmas play at 3:00 so ILs and my sis are coming over in between as all live like an hour away. Last year, I served quiche, but it took way too long to cook and we didn't eat until like 1:00 which is pushing it for the kids.

I am entertainment menu planning challenged, but I know you good DISers will be able to help me. I am ready to learn!! :teacher:

Could you just serve sandwiches? I know it's supposed to be brunch but it's SO easy to serve cold cuts that you put into crossaints.... make their own, know what I mean?

How about a lasagne? Easy to make beforehand and just heat up. Salad and garlic bread and you're all set! It's never too early in the day to eat pasta!

There were some ideas on this thread that might help you out!

Good Luck!

Thanks guys, but I am really liking the idea of brunch. Guess I will have to hit the cookbooks. I have some Quick Cooking or something that I got a few years back. That may do the trick.

Oooh hey!! Typed this before I read that other thread that was linked. THANKS! That is awesome and just what I need.

Here is one of my favorite brunch recipes:

Sausage Bread

1 lb. loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 lb. bulk sausage (sage-flavored)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
½ c. chopped fresh mushrooms
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. grated mozzarella cheese
1 beaten egg

Let bread thaw and rise according to package directions. In medium size skillet brown sausage, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms; drain the liquid. Roll bread dough flat on floured surface with floured rolling pin. Place on slightly greased cookie sheet. Spread half the sausage mixture down center of the dough. Sprinkle half the cheeses over mixture, repeat. Fold dough over and tuck in ends. Brown with beaten egg. Bake at
375 until brown, about 20 minutes.

We recently did a ladies brunch @church and served chicken salad croissant, veggie pizza and the chicken squares (Pampered Chef recipies) There were lots of fruit, spinach dip, veggie and cheese trays with a variety of crackers. Homemade cakes and cookies for dessert. (One mom made sugar cookies shaped like handbags and decorated with icing for the tables. She wrapped them individually in cellophane) They were a great take home treat. Have a great time.

Peanutbutter and Bannana stuffed french toast. Recipe is on foodtv.com. This is easy and very filling.
