We are leaving in 2 weeks for Disney/Universal. I already ordered our 7 day/$86 passes. Now I have to go and break my toe! I'm supposed to stay off of it as much as possible. What! How can I run straight to the back of the park to MIB with a fractured toe!

Anyway, has anyone ever visited the parks with an injury like this, and how did you handle it. Did you use a wheelchair? I have a special shoe to wear but it's very hard to walk.

Thanks for any advice you can share!

When we went last year my DW had an operation on her foot, they told she would be fine for the holiday. She was fine ,but unable to do much walking , was so glad we stayed onsite at Universal for FOTL, stayed onsite at Disney and got a wheelchair at the resort for use during our stay.DW used crutches for around the resort POFQ as it was small and not much walking . She tried the crutches at the park ,but was so tired and foot was sore we had to go back to the resort. So we took the Wheelchair when we went to the parks, she also had a special padded boot to strap on her foot for protection.
Advice on here was to go to Cityhall or any customer service for a gac card , we went to talk to someone and explained about DW, and they gave us one for our stay at Disney.

I had a broken foot for a year and went on two trips to the Orlando theme parks: One right after it happened and the next as it was almost completely healed. For the trip right after it happened I used an ECV to stay off of it for most of the heavy walking. I was able to hobble my way through the lines by myself, or if a family member was with me, had someone push me through the line in a wheelchair. I am young and very tenacious though, so I did a lot more than I should have. It was a major pain, but I got around.

And the thought of using crutches at the park is frightening. Until you get really used to them (I used them for 6 months) it's hell for your upper body.

Worse yet, I was in Orlando and my first night in my condo I went to get a glass of water in the middle of the night and broke my toe walking into the couch. I would imagine taking it easy on it at home will help you heal a little faster. Good luck and don't let it get you down since it is a little late to change anything now anyway.

Rent a wheelchair, I did when I broke two toes a week before we were due to leave the UK for Florida:sad2:

It was fine, really helped because my toes were really painful (two spiral fractures - when I break something, I do a proper job:laughing: ).

Just go and enjoy, take the weight off your foot as often as you can, strap it up to protect and off you go:cool1:

Take care.
