We will be at MGM on Sunday 1/13 and this is my son's 10th bday. He chose the park also. I am so undecided on what to do for his birthday dinner/lunch. This is also the Marathon day so I am trying to avoid having to go to far from the park. We are staying at POR. Any ideas? We will have 2 adults, 10 yr, 8 yr, 5 yr and 22 month old on our trip.

Hi! I just had to reply... we will also be in Disney for the marathon and we will also be celebrating my sons 10th birthday on 1/13/08!!!!!!
I am doing (notice I don't say running) the 1/2 marathon on Saturday and my husband is doing the Goofy challenge so he will do the 1/2 on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday! We are a family of 5, the kids will be 11, 10 (!), and 7 and we are also travelling with extended family...
On the 13th my son's request is to go to Chef Mickey so we will watch my husband run around the Poly where we are staying and then head over to Chef Mickey for a 10:00 brunch (tomorrow is the day when we can call for ADR's!) ... Chef Mickey is a great place to have a 10th birthday celebration! ...
I am not much help on MGM restaurants ... I really haven't found one that I totally love ... 50's Primetime Cafe might be a fun birthday place though! Good luck and happy birthday to your son!

Ohh Happy Birthday to be to your son as well! :) And good for you "doing" the Half-marathon. I will be gladly avoiding anything to do with running for those two days...unless involves making it to my ADR faster. Thanks for replying...I guess 50's will have to be our choice. It's the only one I can figure in. I was able to make all of our ADR's this AM but of course already second guessing two of them. lol

Hey there we celebrated DS's 10th with some great help from Disney! Firstly I made adrs for Coral Reef he loves the huge fish tanks! Sea turtles and sharks always a thumbs up for him!

In speaking with the manager to order the birthday cake I was informed that a personlaized birhtday menu and divers that hold up a sign with whatever you would like displayed!

OK so you wnat to ask how much for such great extra's?? NO DOLLARS!! Yes the cake was extra to add to that was terrific Ds asked our great waitress to share the rest of the cake to spread a little pixie dust!

I also was albe to make some great shirts courtesy of some very creative DISers on this board so if you feel like adding a speical touch theres some crafty folks to lend a hand.

ON the family board there is also some fun birhtday idea on the KOTS thread. Hope this helps!
OK after we had dinner we strolled around the area and viewed all the tanks well the divers were following DS around it was magical!!!!

Lunch he loved the sci fi dinner in MGM and also we went to Downtown at night to enjoy the great goings there, nautrally anything video game realted is a big hit !!!

There are so many great places to celebrate magical moments iin WDW. BTW DS is a secret Stitch fan and O'Hana's breakfast was a huge hit!

PLease post what your DS interests are so any feedback we can give will be very directed towards his likes!

Animals favorite disney movie or park or ride??
