I don't even know if I spelled it right. Grandpa (DH) insists he has to pay for BBB for his older DGD, who'll turn 3 on the next trip. Younger DGD will be 2, so he assumes she'll be too young. Is that right? And I think that even older DGD will be too young, at least to appreciate it. But if she goes, how much does it cost? And do most girls bring a Princess dress? How long does it take? Pros and cons to the different locations? And do most girls have a special occasion to wear their new "do" afterwards or just go to the parks. We're all new to this-and Grandma and Grandpa had boys, so we have no idea about BBB. So tell me anything/everything about it.

There are many threads out there about BBB. There are two locations, one at MK and another at DTD.

There are several packages which range from hair all the way to full outfit and pictures. Most families do breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Cinderella Castle or lunch or dinner at Be Our Guest.

My guess is if big sis gets the royal treatment the little one will want to participate too.

We did BBB then breakfast then changed DD into more comfortable clothes bought a t-shirt for both kids and had the t-shirts and princess stuff sent back to the room.

Grandpa is right on DGD2 being too young; BBB has an age limit of 3-12. My DD's first BBB was at 3 1/2 and she loved it. There's something special about being made into a princess inside of Cindy's Castle.

Packages and pricing vary. You can find the list of packages, their included services and price points here. The Castle package is the most expensive (~$200) and includes the dress, but honeslty I'd purchase one beforehand when the Disney Store has a sale.

We are also proud grandparents, and paid for our DGD first BBB. She had hers in the MK, and she chose her dress there, (Elsa), and she was a beautiful little princess! We bought the most expensive package which I believe cost just over $200.00. It included her dress, tiara, wand, hair, makeup and nails. Also included was a Photo package. She also received a little backpack. We had CRT reservations for dinner and her BBB was at 8:55am, so she was dressed all day as a Princess. We did see some little girls bringing in their own dresses. They have different packages to choose from. I would say it took about an hour from the time we got there till she was done, then we were off for her photo shoot, which was just a few steps away. She Loved it, and we really enjoyed watching her makeover. My DD said it was the best day of the trip!
