Hi all,

I am looking for ideas or suggestions on where to have DS (just turned 4) sleep. We are DVC members and usually book a 1BR. Our next trip will be in a 1BR at VWL. In the past, we had a crib, and for the past trip or two beyond the crib , we brought a Readybed inflatable travel bed (a toddler sized blow up mattress basically). We don't have DS sleep on the foldout sofa bed since DH and I like to stay up for a while after DS goes to bed. DS won't sleep in our bed either. We weren't thrilled with the Readybed, but I don't think I want to invest in more of the same type of thing. The problem is is that DS sleeps all over the bed at home and we rely on bedrails to keep him in check. When he is on the smaller readybed at Disney, it is only a matter of time until he ends up on the floor. We do spread an extra blanket or two around his bed, but he still doesn't sleep well and I am constantly up throughout the night adjusting him in his bed.

I am under the impression that Disney doesn't have portable beds or cots, is that correct? Has anybody ever used Disney's bedrails? Could I place them under his readybed--would they stay secure? Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks!:goodvibes

My DS loves his Thomas Ready Bed. He tosses around a ton at night, but always does well in his Ready Bed.

Consider putting DS in the bed in the bedroom w/bedrails and you and dh on the pullout.

Thanks for your suggestions. DS likes the idea of a sleeping bag, but I can never keep him in one. He's usually wiggled out of it within an hour. I'm not sure DH and I want to spend our week on the foldout bed either. It is something to consider. I just wish I could find something to put on the sides of the Readybed to contain him a little more, but last time I was in the room, there was nothing that I could find to confine him.

can you get a bigger air mattress? we had a toddler readybed, but one night my DD refused to sleep on it, *I* had to sleep on it (we were at a friend's) while she slept on my double size air mattress. The next day I went out and bought another double size air mattress. It works well for her, she is all over it but rarely falls off. You might also think about one of you sleeping with him in the king while the other sleeps on the pullout, or just putting him on the couch, not pulled out with a bedrail.

We've used the bedrails (at the time we were at POR). They are the kind with a 12 inch or so "arm and leg" that go under the edge of each side of the mattress. They don't attach to each other or anything under the mattress, so it is basically the weight of the mattress holding them in place. Not sure how well they'd work with an air mattress - expecially if your son is quite squirmy.
