Hi. We will be taking our first WDW vacation for my son's 5th bday this September.

I have been scouring the boards for ideas on how to make this trip even more special. Thanks to my research I now know to get a "today is my birthday button" and to request to ride the front of the monorail and I will definitely order a birthday cake to be presented at dinner.

I am planning on booking the Pirate Cruise at the GF for the morning of his birthday and then spending the rest of the day at the MK with dinner at Chef Mickey's. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Also, thinking about pre ordering a birthday gift basket to be in our room when we arrive filled with items that I choose. For example, an autograph book and pen, Pal Mickey, a safari hat with Mickey ears and binoculars (for the following day at AK) and maybe even the birthday button so I don't have to pick it up. Is this something the concierge can/will help me with?

Thanks

I think they sound like wonderful ideas. I'm not sure if you can get the birthday button ahead of time or if you have to get one at guest relations at the parks. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. It sounds like your son will have an unforgettable birthday.

We celebrated my son's birthday at Chef Mickey's. Make sure you tell them it is his birthday. All the character's came out and sang to him and even brought a special decorated cupcake.
Also I noticed a lot of the stores carry disney themed birthday hats. ex: the castle with birthday candles...Hope this helps

I was going to suggest the pirate cruise, sounds like you have everything covered. Maybe a special good/morning/happy birthday phone call. Or a special birthday card from his favorite character.

Have a look a their website. They ave some great events and we have used them and loved the people we have worked with. They are very creative and can help you out with planning needs!

How about having your stateroom decorated for his birthday. I know Disney offers this and yes you do have to pay for it. I think it is signs, balloons and streamers.
