Hey all -

Wow. 34 days till my trip.

Shortly after I return, my boss, who is the SWEETEST lady, will finally be bringing home the adorable 1 year old baby she is adopting from Guatamala. I want to get her something cute from Disneyworld for the baby. Does anyone have any suggestions for cute, inexpesive but nice baby gifts?

How about the "my first mickey mouse t-shirt". I have given that shirt to many new babies. I don't know how big you can get them though. I love them.:earsgirl:

That's a good idea. I could probably get the shirt a bit big so the baby grows into it.

Do they have any mouse ears in baby sizes?

Yup, they have mouse ears in infant and toddler sizes.

If you will have access to a car while at WDW, I'd suggest making a trip to one of the off-site outlets. The store at the Prime Outlets is only about 5-10 minutes from the Downtown Disney area. The Belz outlet is maybe 20 minutes.

If you aren't looking for a specific item, you should find a nice selection at very good prices at either outlet. In '02, we found a "My First Trip to Disney World" shirt for our son at the Prime outlets. The theme parks were selling the EXACT same shirt for $12. We paid $4.

We also found mouse ears at the outlet.

I believe the outlets are owned by Disney, and are mostly used to get rid of outdated (out of season) merchandise. But for some reason we also found quite a few items that were still being sold in the parks and resorts--except we paid pennies on the dollar.

If you can't get to the outlet, World of Disney has a room dedicated to infant/toddler clothing. There are also some shops on Main Street at the MK.

Wow. We will have a car so I will definately check those places out!

Thanks for the tip. :)

I know the t-shirt idea is a good one, but here's something different. If you know the baby's name, there are "Pooh" letters that spell out the baby's name, or frames that you can personalize. I'm sure they may have Mickey/Minnie letters also that you can buy. Always a nice gift that they won't outgrow and parents can place them on a shelf in the baby's room (even if they didn't decorate in a Disney theme, the letters are sweet. I saw some that were about 3 inches high.

Also the Mickey/Minnie Mini Mams are cute. (Pacifiers)

And it's always fun just to be the 'first' in giving a stuffed baby Mickey or Minnie to the baby -

Have fun!!!:D :D :D :D

Here's an idea.

At Downtown Disney, there's a glassworks shop near the entrance. The shop will engrave glasses for ppl. DH & I bought biersteins with 2000 on one side and our names on the other. If you don't know the baby's name you could have "Welcome Home" and "2003" engraved on it. They weren't expensive, and are something we love to drink out of on an almost daily basis and are a permanent reminder of our first vacation together (we're now married).

You can get ears personalized at the Chapeau on Main Street for no charge when you purchase the hat. I've brought back many of those for little ones. The baby ones have elastic that goes under the chin to keep it on.

I like the baby dish sets. Princesses for girls (or boys if you
are really progressive) and Mickey or Pooh for Boys. I get them
every time we go for someone. Also, the little wash cloths and
underwear lineups are really cute!
