We will be in Epcot next week and I was listening to the last email show and the Behind the Seeds tour was mentioned. This walking tour sounded really interesting but I have a really BIG fear of spiders and for some reason, I seem to recall the tour had spiders in it. Can anyone verify this or offer an opinion? We will be there on my birthday and I would hate for something so silly to ruin the day. TIA!

I don't remember there distinctly being spiders, but there is a room where they work with developing and researching beneficial insects. These are mainly very tiny wasps that don't look like the big ones most people are afraid of.

From what I remember when we took it a couple years ago, they had more poosters/photos of the insects than actual insects. If you let the guide know, I be they will let you hang near the door or just outside it, if you have worries. I wouldn't let it stop you. It is an amazing tour and I have taken it at least 5 times in the last 20 years of doing WDW vacations. Considering we get out to WDW about every 18 months to 2 years since 2001, that's pretty good.

Hey there!

We went on the tour last Oct, and I can't remember any spiders at all. Hubby couldn't either.

In the beginning of the tour, you do see some flys and kids are given lady bugs to release later.

In the alligator and fish room, there are some tanks with various other animals - there could have been a spider in one of those - but I honestly don't remember any. I DO remember the GIANT shrimp though.. it was HUGE!

Hope that helps a bit...

No worries, there aren't any spiders. There are some wasps in a glass case, but that's all the bugs you'll see.

We did the tour a few years back and Loved it! I highly recommend it. I got so much more out of that exhibit than you ever get on the boats.

Thanks so much! I just knew you guys would know :thumbsup2 We will add this tour to the top of our list - I was looking for something new to do and this sounds like just the thing. Thanks!

DD and I just did the tour on Sat, 1/18. We both really enjoyed it! No spiders at all- DD and the 2 other kids on the tour got to release ladybugs. We both highly recommend it!

We went in 2007, and there weren't any spiders. Wasps, yes (that's my issue), but even still they were well contained. :thumbsup2 It was a great girl's day for myself, MIL, SIL and aunt.
