need advice

I have been a planning fool trying to get the best bang for my buck. My son and I are going to Orlando for a vacation/cruise in August.

We are not flying b/c neither one of us is comfortable with the ideal. Is it better to get a disney resort and get transport to universal/seaworld?
O is it better to get a hotel that has comp shuttles to both and the hotel is centrally located between them?

If I get the land/sea package, I'll spend $1000 more for things I do not necessarily want, but the burning question is will I save anything by doing an off-site hotel and catching the dcl bus?

If you are going to Universal & IOA, I would stay on that property. It gives "express pass" to the rides and is the only way to go.
