After a delay in our wedding plans, we are looking at June 2007. Here is where I need the advice, df and I did things a little backwards, we already have the child, she is eight, and now we are getting married. Here is where I have the question, we are not 100% positive what to do for our wedding, we are thinking about this, having an intimate ceremony at WDW, just the two of us AND our daughter. There is no way we would leave her out, but do you think it would be weird to have her with us for our honeymoon? We thought about bringing someone with us, a nanny-type situation, but we just cannot afford to do that, the other thought, get a suite instead of just a hotel room. We already live under the same roof so in a way it is not a big deal, but in another way, it is a big deal. I am 39 and he is 43, this is both of our first marriages and we have been through so much to be where we are. Please tell me what you think. By the way, we really want to get married and honeymoon in WDW so getting married here and then going there, still a no-go because, again, we would not leave her out.

Thank you

I would do what makes you most comfortable.

I love the intimate idea of you bringing her along for the wedding. She probobly wouldnt want to miss it for the world, just as much as you wouldnt want her to miss it. I also dont think its a bad idea for her to come along to the "honeymoon". A true "honeymoon" is what you make of it. So so many couples honeymoon after the wedding... as in... weeks, months, even years. If having her with you is what you want... which is magical for a child in and of itself.. than do so. Maybe in months/years to come you could have her stay with a grandparent/friend/family relative for a week and the two of you could honeymoon again (which sounds romantic to me).

The nanny figure doesnt sound like a bad idea... if you like your privacy (which you have probobly been lacking for the last 8 years;) )

Whatever you decide, just make sure its something you and your DH are confident in.

Good Luck to you Cat! :grouphug:

I think it's a great idea to take your daughter along and include her. You could do a suite and have your own room, that way you get a little bit of privacy. You could also plan one night where you hire the babysitting service and just the two of you go out for a romantic meal.

A suite sounds like a great idea. You can look into renting DVC points and getting a "home away from home" resort. There are topics and threads on how to do that all over the DIS. Also, Disney has babysitting in the resorts, so one or two nights of your honeymoon, you and your new hubby can go out to dinner, PI, Boardwalk, etc. and you'll have a babysitter for your daughter. Best Wishes in whatever you decide!

Ha ha - I think we had the same thought at the same time :rotfl:

Thank you so much for the encouraging words!!! I needed them! Wow! Started checking out suites last night...$$$$ BUT, this is a once in a lifetime, so we are going for it. One more question, we were doing GF, now we are open, any thoughts on which suites are best? Thanks AGAIN!

try this

suite disney .com (no spaces)

It has pics of all the suites on property, so it helps you get a good idea of what to expect! Happy Hunting! :goodvibes

Click on the left hand menu on WDW photo vacation and scroll until you find the suites.

Check out the DVC boards and look into how much it would be to rent points for a two bedroom. It might work out cheaper for you plus you would have the kitchen space.
