Need advice..would you take an infant to Disney?

:thumbsup2 Colin's been twice now I can say it was almost easier the first time at 9 weeks! We flew at nine weeks but drove when he was 11 months 2 weeks ago. Like I said previously the fan on the stroller, AWESOME! We had a wonderful time, we planned the trip before we knew he was coming and never once thought of cancelling. A few things to keep perspective when traveling w/a wee one:

1. The Baby Care Centers in each park are nice they offer private areas to breastfeed and nice ares to change the baby that aren't in the loud bathrooms, they will warm bottles, etc.

2. If you formula feed; we got a nice streamlined thermos and fill that w/warm water and throw it int he stroller and warm bottles while walking are a non-issue.

3. I haven't been anywhere in WDW yet that wasn't completely willing to give us warm water for free if we needed it even if we weren't eating there.

4. We also went in w/the attitude that we weren't going commando, we weren't going to ride everything or spend lots of hours just walking and it was great. We enjoyed more of the subluities of the parks and was the first time we had really time to enjoy being a new family w/o people always stopping by to see the baby or calling to check up on us we could breathe.

5. Talk to your peditrician they recommended a sunscreen to use that was ok for a baby under 6 months and they also wanted him to have plenty of fluids recommending pedialite unflavored but not to replace a feed it was to supplement only.

We also didn't have the easiet time of 1st time parenthood; our son was breech born via C-Section and was transported to the IA City Children's Hospital 2 hours after brith where he needed 'routine brain surgery' and was in the NICU for the first 2.5 weeks. We still made it work, the C-section honestly I've been thru far worse in my life and bounced back and never felt any ill affects from the walking 9 weeks later. Colin's doing great and we have awesome memories from that trip and the one we took 2 weeks ago. :thumbsup2

Brandon ....I realize that it was my son Blair that cornered you at the dessert party but my youngest Delaney who was diagonsis with Diabetes that trip....her very first trip to WDW she was just 3months old. To this day I remember that trip. We went slow watched a lot of shows even with the three older ones it was still one of my all time favorite trips.

If Misty thinks she is able then I say go for it....if Misty isn't sure then I say bag it. An unhappy mom is a very bad traveling companion.

PS we will be there sans the kids from the 1 to the 6th of September

"Need advice..would you take an infant to Disney?"

Honestly and respectfully...no!

Thank you all for your advice. After careful concideration, we have decided to wait. We originally planning on going anyway in Dec of 2008. This way the child will be a little older and will probably recognize the characters more. (my plan will unfold... :rotfl2: ) Also, more people might get to go with us. Now I will say it...come on 2008.....

At least in 2007 I can find out when we can at least book the trip and that in it self, will be greatness...But then comes the waiting...lol.....We will be strapped for money....but hey we have a Disney Visa and in Januarary, tax time will come...lol...
