We are booked at WDW from Aug 21 -Aug 28 POFQ. I am a debating whether or not to book this Air Tran flight $64 departure (it is actually leaving a day earlier, Aug 20 (they only have one flight left on the 21st whichis not at a good time), than we wanted & $79 return ( also leaving a day later, Aug 22 and they even have $64 dollar return from Orlando leaving Aug 23). They break down the cost of the flight to be actually $55 and $69 before taxes and then after all the surcharges and everything the total cost is 687.20 US (860.89 CND) or $627.20US (784 CND) if we leave on Tues.

I don't want to nickle and dime this vacation as we got the free meal plan so already we are saving almost $1000 Cdn (so we now have a little more $ to play with) but if I could save more through SouthWest getting a $49 or less flight if would be even better. If we do this Air tran thing then it would mean at at least two or three more nights.

Our DU travel agent said we could probably stay at one of the value resorts for that first extra night and then we were debating because are meals are free if we extended our booking we 'd just be playing for the hotel (we have the park hopper plus ticket which does not expire and I think we'll still have some use out of it left). Then we were also thinking that if we stayed until Tues we could even leave Disney on Sun Aug 21 as planned and even rent a car and stay at a cheapie hotel by the beach.

I am just confused but I don't know whether to wait it out for a SW deal or just book!!! What should do???????????? :flower: :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Hey, you are going on the exact same dates as my daughter and I and we are also at POFQ! :flower: We are driving but I had to change my reservation too. I had booked 22-28th but decided I wanted to drive through Atlanta on a weekend day not a weekday so I called this week and added the 21st. It was no problem at all.
I can't offer help on the flights but if I were you I wouldn't want to change resorts. Once I am there I hate moving again. We just want to get to the parks!
Good luck with your flights and see you there. :goodvibes

Sorry I forgot to mention that was for four of us!!

That's great that your going too-- isn't the meal plan deal amazing!!!!!!!!1

I would be booking that faster than you could say "everybody neat and pretty?"

Then again, our airfare is sitting at $2300 bucks for four...so I guess my enthusiasm could be a little misplaced...;) LOL!!

If it's a price you are happy with (and the beach thing sounds lovely!), then book it, baby!!:)

Because really, what's another $60 for peace of mind, booked trip, and good flight times...

HTH!!
:sunny:

Book, Book, Book,- did I say BOOK! ;)

That's a great price out of TO.

Boy am I dense. I forgot to mention this is for flying out of Buffalo no direct flights just connecting. Is this still good???????? :rotfl2:

well I guess that depends on if you have little ones and if it will inconvieniece (sp?) them with the connection. I think South West is the only airline that flies direct from Buffalo to Orlando, but $64 on Air Tran is a REALLY good deal. That's truly hard to beat.

Often if you wait too long for a deal, you can shoot yourself in the foot and end up paying more in the long run................ (ie you miss the $64 fare and end up paying $99).

:cool1: My sister and I decided to jump on that $64/$79 rt, even though you pay a bit more in airport taxes because of the stop in Atlanta. I've been watching SW for months now. I've seen it go higher and higher. Even the DING fares have gone up. . . $88 two weeks ago, $94 (?) this week. The $24 000 question, is Will SW do an internet seat sale? :confused3 Sis and I decided that not having to worry about that was worth it. We're excited about the $171 rt. :jumping2: :jumping2:

I'm the "sister" that Debbie refers to :teeth: ... and I totally agree that I feel so much better now that we've booked the flight. If SWA comes out with a better deal, that we could get non-stop on, I'm not going to be upset by it. I figure it's all a gamble ... win some, lose some. I don't think you'll see SWA go for $49 or less in the summer, but ya never know.

We're there from Aug 20 to the 26th staying at POP ... looks like there are a few of us going at the same time!
