My extended family and I (16 of us) will be headed to DLR next month. Because I am the only one in the group that has been there many times, they are looking up to me to make all the plans. They want to do a character breakfast which, surprisingly, I have never been to. I made reservations at Lilo & Stitch because I think they would like the Hawaiian theme and the little cousins love Stitch. So, my question is this..does he always show up? And also, our hotel shuttle will be dropping us off at the main plaza. CM's from dining told me that it is an quick walk from DL to Paradise Pier. Is this true? I am familiar with DTD and GCH but not anything else beyond that.

Yes, Lilo and Stitch are always there. It is our favorite character breakfast. We also saw Minnie, Daisy, Pluto, and Max. My niece got to play musical islands with Stitich (similar to musical chairs) and she did the hula with Lilo and Minnie.

The walk from where your hotel drops you off to PP is probably about 15 minutes if you walk straight there without stopping anywhere in DTD. You can either go through the Grand to get there or go all the way through DTD until you see the DLH then take a left and you will see PP.

Have fun!

Yes, since it's Lilo and Stitch breakfast, those 2 are always there. It's the other characters that rotate.

Your shuttle will drop you off on the complete opposite side of the resort. You will walk through a security bag check, through the esplanade (area in between DL and DCA), through another security bag check (but you won't get checked again, just use the exit row), through Downtown Disney, past the Disneyland Hotel and finally arrive at Paradise Pier.

Now that sounds like a lot, but will probably be a 10-15 minute walk. However everyone will be tempted to look in the shop windows in Downtown Disney, so that adds some time.

Wow, I didn't even think about all DTD distractions. I guess we are going to have to make some extra time in getting there. Thanks for the help!

We have done all the character meals and personally, I would book the Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn. First of all, it is right in the park and I would think that it would be much easier with a large group to go there.
Secondly, while the food is excellent at Lilo and Stitch, there are only a handful of characters. We saw 5 total, lilo and stitch, max, daisy duck and one more I think. At the Plaza, there are a lot more, Pooh and his Friends, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Chip and Dale, sometimes Alice in Wonderland with the white rabbit, and more...but the ease of eating right in the park is wonderful and you don't lose time going to another location.

We like to book it a little later and do our early entry first, ride all the fantasyland rides and then head over to breakfast and it works out great. (We give the kids a bowl of cereal and a banana in the hotel while we are dressing to tide them over). Also, when you have a large group, some might want to leave before others and if you are right in the park, it is easy enough to say, meet you at small world in 30 minutes for example.

We also like to do a character breakfast the day we are leaving just to extend the magic a little longer and get started home with full bellies-lol. Those are the times we do the hotel ones!

I liked Lilo and Stitch....in fact, this last trip, I preferred it over Goofy's Kitchen.

We saw Lilo, Stitch, Daisy, Minnie, Pluto (I think). My brother has all of our character photos....I need to get them from him so I can remember who was there.

We did this breakfast on a day that we knew weren't going into the park right off the bat. We had other errands to run that day so to get into the swing of Disney things to come, we did the breakfast. I liked it because we didn't feel the need to rush our food so we could start riding the rides. It was a nice relaxing meal. The food was pretty good too.

The kids will love it when they can dance with Lilo and Stitch. At least the kids that we saw looked like they were having great fun. :goodvibes
