Need Advice, Re: Good Offer for HM Top Hat

What would be considered a fair, even offer for the HM Top Hat? I never know what to trade for rare items since I am semi-new and wasn't even around to witness the furnishings, posters, clothing, or pins that existed during the early days of VMK. So, as you can see, I am slightly clueless and don't have a great knowledge of rare items. I do know, however, that trades should be fairly equal across the table. My predicament, you ask? I don't want to embarass myself by going into trading rooms and offering things that are no where near as rare as the HM Top Hat.

Though I am probably not ready to initiate a trade, I thought I might as well share my current inventory, to get the ball rolling. Out of these items, is anything the slightest bit rare? A * indicates this item was a gift, and I would expect not to trade it. Also, I'd appreciate some suggestions of items I would need (or don't currently have) for a good offer.

My advice is.

Churro Pin and Bat Magic is more than fair if you are willing to do it.

What I did with either the Tiki Room Opens pin and the Pirates 1/5 pin was offer them up (can't remember which one) for only costumes/hats. In the early goings with the Pirates pin, a fellow DISer traded me a full blue princess outfit and an Indian shirt and feather headress for 1. For the record, I tried repeatedly to talk her out of it.

I'd offer up the churro pin alone and see what you can get; someone might trade the hat as well as other outfit pieces. Bat magic and the churro pin is way too much for a top hat, I think, based on what bat magic goes for on its own.

Other things you have that are rare are:
Red baseball shirt (1 day quest; doesn't seem as much of a demand for it as there was earlier on)

Monster's Inc. Gold Door teleporters (not rare-rare, but only available at DL and no longer available, to my knowledge)

Narnia Wardrobe Teleporters (not very rare anymore, but quite a few people still don't have them)

Prince Phillip's Briarstone (in-park quest item)

Raft Couch (WDW quest item; still highly sought after by many)

Magenta Rocketship Couch (in-park quest item)

Cyan Tangaroa-ru Tiki Idol (sold for a long time, but not sold currently)
Tiki Tiki Tiki Fountain (ditto to the above)


Typhoon Lagoon Blue Crate (only available for a limited time; will be more rare later as newer folks join and don't have them)

Waterslide Ride Down Hill (only available from Host quests or the ride-a-thons)


4th of July Hat (only sold for 1 day; will also probably be more sought after later on)

1x Blue Princess Bodice

1x Princess Tiara* (all of these are rare, the rarest being the blue bodice, as the blue dress was last sold at Halloween, I believe; pink was sold again in February)

Snowman (rare; last sold at Christmas time)

Turn Into Bat (the rarest of all your pins, I'd say)

Toucan Jungle Cruise Photo Safari (I believe this is also an in-park quest item)

I didn't think that would be enough, considering I attempted to offer my last churro pin, in addition to some of my furniture and teleportation magic, earlier today. My offers kept getting rejected. I guess I'll just have to find that one person with a HM top hat in need of a couple pins, I suppose, hehe.

SorcererDonald16, thanks so much for analyzing all of my items! You really out did yourself! It makes so much more sense to me now, haha. Some of those things I would have never considered as rare. In fact, now knowing this, I think I may have traded a few extra Tiki Tiki Tiki fountains poorly. *sigh* Oh, well. Better to know now than never, right?

I offered the churro pin several times both on VMK and on DIS. No go, as of yet. I did have some interest on VMK from a boy who said he would trade items from his own inventory to get the top hat, which he would then trade me in return for my churro pin. The problem is, he can't find anyone who will go through with his trade. But I will keep trying! You've given me some hope, now that I can distinguish what is rare out of the items I have. Thank you, once again. I can't wait to hit the rare trade rooms tomorrow!
