Need advice - POR?

I'm trying to talk my husband into a trip to WDW this year. We're DVC members with zero points left, and he's not into spending all that money on Disney. I saw the Disney Visa rates for the moderates which look really good. We are a family of 6 (kids are 9,7,5 and 8 months). We could get a room at POR with a trundle bed and a crib. We've never stayed there before. Would we be too crowded and miserable staying there? I have to admit, we are a little spoiled after staying at the DVC resorts, but if this is the only way we can go, I thought we might be able to handle it. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

OMGosh! I just got on to read up on POR myself b/c we, too, are DVC members & just got the opportunity to go down the week before Easter. Typically, I have our ressies booked way in advance, but it didn't work out that way for this one. Anyway, we still have points, but there's no availability for when we'd like to go, but they did offer connecting rooms at POR Riverside. We are toying with it b/c we've always said we'd like to try a lot of the resorts, but boy is it nice to have that kitchen & W/D. Decisions, decisions!! Sorry I don't have an answer, but thought I'd say thanks for posting the question!! Best wishes in your planning!!

Unless you are as cozy as the Waltons, six in a room at POR is too tight. Why not try for two rooms at one of the Downtown Disney properties?

Your room would be crowded, but I think it's possible. There is room to put the crib between the table and chairs and the entertainment center - and it will never be in your way. That still leaves plenty of room for the trundle bed to be pulled out. We loved the atmosphere of POR (visted 1st week of Feb. with 3 and 1 yr. old) How often are you really going to be in your room anyway?!
