So, my partner and I are traveling to the Anaheim/San Diego area with a couple friends and our 1 1/2 year old daughter in October and I'm desperately in need of advice! We originally thought about taking her to Mickey's Halloween Party on a Friday, but I worry that she won't even come close to lasting until 10/11 pm to enjoy the parade, etc.

So, should we try and nap her a TON prior to going to the park at 4pm and hope she lasts, or do we take the plunge and buy a 1 or 2 day park hopper on a non-Halloween Party day and let her take her time, enjoy both parks, etc... who thought planning a day trip to Disney would be so stressful?! :rotfl:

This may be DD's first visit, but the trip isn't for her it's for you. She won't see all the details you do. She won't enjoy it like you do. She won't remember it like you will.

Do what you want to and what will be easist for you. If you want to go to the halloween party do, enjoy the parades and fireworks. If she sleep in the stroller the whole time in will make no difference.

I agree with the above plus I think you might be surprised how much activity and late nights she will be up for!

I would definitely do the Halloween party - lots of fun even if she does miss the parade!

Where will you be staying? All three Disney hotels are SO close to the parks that it will only take a few minutes to get back to your room to take a nap. I agree - she won't remember much so do what is best for your trip! Have fun!!

She may not remember much so take lots of pictures! Also, maybe she'll wear a costume for the Halloween party??

I agree with just enjoy yourself! Our daughter is 6 mo right now and we're planning a trip for her 1st birthday and/or next Halloween.

I don't think you have to get back to the room, just let her nap in the stroller and enjoy the magic when she wakes up. Your trip will make for some great photo-ops so maybe plan for some fun ideas for when she does wake up. I know it is harder for them to nap when there is so much going on around them, but if she's tired it will l happen and is only a couple of days.
