Im going to book with southwest, so with that said...

I need someones advice.. My dates are August 13th - August 20th (free dining) both of those days are on a sunday and I cant move the trip AT ALL because I start college on the 21st! I know fare is more on sunday? correct?

Plus I am in Louisville KY and it dosent seem they have much dings for louisville to orlando... With all this.. should I book EXACTLY when they release the new dates? I really hate gambling a ding that probaly wont happen.. Also does southwest prices go up the longer you wait?

thanks!

I'd book right away, you can book R/T but don't book a R/T fare. Just keep looking for a DING or a fare sale. You don't have any date flexibility and if the flights you need book fast you may be out of luck.

The past 2 years we've traveled the week of Labor Day. I looked back today on our checking acct statements and we've booked SW $39 fare in early July. So I'm holding out for that w/ my fingers crossed hoping it will come out again this year. But we are also Nashville to Orlando and it's a pretty regular fare that they offer.

Fares are released thru 8/3 right now...I'm guessing later August will be released shortly (maybe by mid April or shortly after) Historically, it's been mid April. I would book your trip as soon as fares are released, but, book ow's then you have some flexibility if a Ding fare is released later on. I know you can CHANGE only one way of your flight if need be, but, I don't know if you can actually CANCEL one way in order to take advantage of a Ding fare. For some reason I'm thinking I read somewhere you can't. I do know you must book the Ding fare from the Ding screen and you need to have the change screen up on a second window so you can cancel your flight immediately before booking the Ding in order to use the ticketless funds. From my own experiences we've always booked as soon as flights are released and then just keep watching for sales. Even though we fly SW a lot,
we only recently installed Ding because we have all Mac's in our house and until last month Ding couldn't be used on a Mac. So, I haven't had the opportunity to use a Ding yet.
