We suppose to visit Dallas, TX. Could you tell me some great places to visit in the Dallas area?

We will probably fly in to the Dallas and would love any and all advice. thanks

A must-do is The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. https://www.jfk.org/ Its extremely well-done and you want to take your time. I was underwhelmed by Dallas, to be honest.

We only spent a half-day in Dallas, then a day in Fort Worth and then headed south to Fredericksburg and San Antonio.

The Dallas World Aquarium is a world-class facility. Several of the downtown high rises are architectural marvels.

I grew up in the Dallas area, and I kind of agree that it is a bit underwhelming. It doesn't have the appeal that a lot of other major cities have. The Aquarium is nice, as mentioned above. I've never done any of the JFK stuff, other than driving the road a hundred times, which always felt so eerie to me.

I like the museum of science and history in Ft Worth (very nice Imax theater!) and I like the Ft. Worth zoo.

You don't say if you will be traveling with children or just adults, so not real sure what sort of activities y'all are interested in seeing.

With kids:
Dallas area-zoo, world aquarium, Perot Museum, Heard Animal Sanctuary (outside of Dallas)
Fort Worth area-zoo, museum of science and history, Log Cabin Village, Frontiers of Flight museum, grapevine railroad (ride a traditional train), Grapevine Mills (cosmic mini golf, ice skating, carousel, Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland, movies, restaurants)

Without kids:
Dallas Area- Dallas Museum of Art, game or concert at American Airlines Center or Winspear Opera House
Fort Worth area- Billy Bob's Texas (huge honky tonk), Sundance Square, game or tour at AT&T stadium (Cowboys) or Globe Life Park (Rangers)

You will need a car, public transport won't get you far and things are far apart.

The Dallas Zoo & the Dallas World Aquarium are both really good.

The Fort Worth Zoo is also great.

https://joetgarcias.com/ The Joe T Garcia’s Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth is awesome! It is also close to the stockyard area if that interests you.

DH and DD went to Dallas last year. They enjoyed the Crow Collection of Asian Art.

DH said he had the best meal of his life at Uchi.

I second the Ft. Worth zoo. They had/have some species I had never seen before in a zoo.

thank you all! My husband has a meeting at the Dallas convention center so My teenage daughter and I will be seeing the sites while he is busy. Does anyone know what is close to the Dallas convention center? Has anyone stayed at the Omni resort there?

Museum district and Klyde Warren Park should cover you for one day, easy Uber ride.

If you like to shop, my teen daughter and I like Northpark Center. Stonebriar Centre has a Riley Rose, which is a trendy makeup shop. If you're into all things Japanese & Korean, Carrollton has a massive Asian Market area with great shops and restaurants (we like the conveyor belt sushi place/Kula)
The Dallas Museum of Art has an installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama called 'All the Love I have for the Pumpkins'. Its an infinity room and its amazing. Only there until February 24 and you MUST pre-buy tickets. https://dma.org/
Klyde Warren Park is interesting and the Downtown Neiman Marcus is an experience. Right across the street from it is a massive art installation that's a human eyeball.

I looked up the Omni & what it is close to as I wasn’t real sure of its location.

The Dallas World aquarium, and the sixth floor museum are about 1 mile away.

The George Bush presidental library is about 5 miles from there & the Dallas Arboretum & Gardens is about 7 miles from there.

The Dallas Zoo is also really close to that area.

These are all nice places to visit.

I agree with most of the suggestions given. If you like history, the JFK trolley tour is very interesting and you will learn a lot. It leaves from by the Sixth Floor Museum and Dealey Plaza. Short walk from the Omni.

Also, if you walk around the Convention Center area, my kids get a kick out of the cattle drive/longhorn statutes.

You could also catch the Dart train to the Dallas Zoo. It's actually really nice.

I love the Dallas Arboretum -- not sure when you will be here, but it is only $5 admission for the month of February.

You are close to the American Airlines center if you like pro basketball or pro hockey games.

I have a teenage daughter and I live in the 'burbs but work in the downtown Dallas area. Let me know if you have any specific interest or questions.

We did Spring Break in Dallas/Ft. Worth a few years ago and none of the places we went have been mentioned. We used our Six Flags passes and that park is so nice! We saw the rodeo in Ft. Worth (I think it's every week). The national Boy Scout headquarters is in the suburbs -- interesting if you have a Boy Scout.
