Need advice on planning Oct trip!

We are going to WDW October 6-11th with free dining at POR (family of 5). this will be our 2nd trip (1st was in May of this year and we are hooked!) and our first MNSSHP

MNSSHP is on the 7th and 8th and we had originally planned to go on the 7th thinking that maybe a thurs night wouldn't be as crowded as a friday night. However, that thurs has am EMH at MK and we just found out that the only showing of fantasmic while we are there is thursday night and this is something we missed on our last trip. The dis calendar shows that it will also be on that Saturday night the 9th but the CM said no???

So, my question(s) is (are): What are the chances that they will add more Fantasmic showings? Also, is MNSSHP most likely to be crowded on a friday night or a thursday night on a day that MK has EMH?

Another reason we wanted to do MNSSHP on thursday was so we could do EP on Fri for food/wine to avoid the weekend there which I had heard is when locals usually go.

Decisions, decisions-any advice would be appreciated!

That's a tough one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE MNSSHP and I think Thursday would be the least crowded of the 2 nights, however I would pay admission to Hollywood Studios just to see FANTASMIC -- We LOVE that show! Another thing to consider is that since you will be going early in the MNSSHP season and they limit how many tickets they sell. You should be okay either night.

Sorry, I'm not sure I helped -- this is a difficult decision.

You must be living right! These are good "problems" to have

I do not consider myself an expert by any means, but I know that last year, when we were planning our late September trip, they did add additional showings of Fantasmic! and posted them late August/early September. I don't know the rhyme or reason for how/when/why they schedule F! the way they do, but I know there is a possibility of them adding shows between now and when you leave.

As far as a Friday night at MNSSHP, it is hard to believe it would be extremely crowded that first weekend of October. Again, other folks with more experience can weigh in, but if you really want to see F! I might go ahead and change plans so that you can definitely see it and do MNSSHP on Friday night. I'm imagining you have plans to visit MK at other times during your trip, so you can focus on the trick-or-treating, parade, etc and not worry about getting to attractions that you might otherwise have missed, if it ends up being extremely crowded.

I had the same issue. It's me, ds7 and my mom.....we are going from oct 7-12. We don't have hoppers so I had to plan each day accordingly. My plan is to head to DHS on 7th so we can see F! that night. I bought tix for MNSsHP on the 8th. I'm also planning on heading to EP on 10th. According to touring plans crowd calendar it's the park to go to that day since MK has EMH that evening. I'm hoping it all works out which I'm sure it will.... Crowd levels are estimated to be mostly 3's during our stay.
