We've done Crystal Place twice, 1900PF twice, 'Ohana once, Tusker once, Chef Mickey's for breakfast and dinner, Hollywood & Vine once, CRT for lunch and dinner, and Akershus for lunch and dinner.
Tusker was the only one we probably won't return to any time soon. We had an 8:10a- the food was dried out and nasty, the service was pretty bad, and the characters were not into it. I thought maybe we went on a bad day, but I've seen a number of exeperiences like this of late.
'Ohana had good service and fun characters, but the food was sub par. We'd still go back for the fun of it.
The food and service and Chef Mickey's and Hollywood & Vine were comparable for breakfast. While we've had very good character interaction at Chef Mickey's for both breakfast and dinner, the characters at Hollywood & Vine really brought their A game. ***NOTE- due to the extreme popularity of character dining - H&V is probably your best bet for finding an ADR at this stage.
1900 PF and Crystal Palace are our two faves. We had really bad service at 1900PF on our 2nd visit, but the food and characters (minus a bad Mad Hatter both times) made up for it. We're big big big fans of the pre-park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace, but this may be nearly impossible to find at this point....still, worth booking if you luck out and find a slot.
We've never done the princess breakfasts- just lunch and dinner. While I'm glad to have done them and eating in the castle is a great experience - I don't think you need to try for those if your child isn't princess obsessed.
I've never done Cape May, but I have friends who really like it. My complaint is that you don't get as many characters as other meals.
It sounds like you're down to the wire booking- but I've had excellent luck getting hard to get adrs by stalking the web site...like checking 100-200x per day using a variety of search methods (mainly for the psychological aspects). Just be persistent. Have a great trip!!!
