Need advice on casual shoes for an 18 year old guy

My DD (college age) works at Journey's which sells all the "in" shoes for teens and college kids. Believe me, Sperry's are in. My DD likes them but doesn't wear them herself because she thinks they don't look good on her foot. But she does have a pair of the Clark's Wallaby's (remember those from the 70s).

Sperry's, Clark's Desert Boot/Wallaby's are in, as well as Tom's. My 17 y/o son goes to a private school so there just is no "fashion" there AT ALL, so I can't really help you and the size 16 doesn't help matters does it?

Definitely sperrys or Clark's desert boots. Especially oiled leather.

Please don't ever let your son leave the house wearing sketchers.

My boyfriend wears something similar to those when he wants to wear something inbetween his regular sneakers and dress shoes. He's 19.

A lot of our guy friends do wear Sperrys, too.

I like those, but again, they don't seem to have them in size 16.

My teen boy wears shoes like in the OP, so do many of his friends. We live in Germany though, so the styles are not always the same, it it seems other posters are also seeing them on teen boys in the US.

Does the Facebook friend commenting have teens or work with them?

She has a 14 year old boy who said the same thing. But she doesn't live around here.

My 21 year old boyfriend (who dresses really well), wears these as his everyday shoes. The suede makes them look much more put together than a regular sneaker.

Check Vans.com for the bigger sizes.

My dd recently graduated from an expensive private university...kids were pretty preppy and the Topsiders (for both genders) were very popular.

Another place you could peruse is the JCrew site...they also have shoes, and if not the right size at least you could get some ideas on popular styles.

If you can, order from Zappos! They are wonderful.
