I have a wonderful Kodak but it is huge and kind of heavey to lug around the parks-- No more stroller to rest it in--- anyway I LOVE my Kodak and was browsing the Kodak site when I came across this camera
Kodak Easyshare M863-- it is new and will be available in Feb, My trip is April. If any of you are gurus with technology in cameras-- please let me know what you think and if it is worth it.

Thanks!!

Personally I like Canon. I have a 35mm Rebel that I love. I just got a Canon Powershot A56 digital for Christmas that I am truely in love with. I take pictures for weddings, birthdays and birth annoucements for friends. So my camera has to be light and easy to use for me.

You have to handle the camera and be comfortable with it. Plus ask yourself what you are going to be taking pictures of. Is the camera too much for you? Does it have what you need to do with it. If it is digital does it have a stabalizer so your pictures won't be blury. Just because it's a good bargain doesn't always mean it's a good buy.

The Canon's are super nice & there are several that are very reasonably priced.
However, I recently purchased a Sony DSC-H3/B (8.1MP, 10x Optical Zoom, etc) & absolutely love it.

We just recently got the Canon PowerShot A650 IS and so far we are really liking it. It has a nice feel in our hands, a screen that flips arounds around, and has a faster recycle time on the flash than our previous camera. It takes 4 AAs (which is why it's faster on the flash) and we use rechargables.

I used to be a HUGE Kodak fan, but in November of '06 I bought a sony its the (DSC-H5, 8.1 mega pixels and 12x optical zoom). Yes it is heavy to carry around, but let me tell you the pictures that I took are amazing! Friends and family were amazed and said they felt like they were there. Sony's (i have done alot of research) and have the best picture quality. I spent about 550.00 on this camera but that included 2 memory cards, a bag, 4 extra batteries (the camera came with 2). My advice if you want a great camera and are willing to learn how to use a new model kodak vs. sony, I would say go with sony!!! You will have pictures that will def. last a million years plus more. Best of luck camera shopping!!!

and to add more to your dilemma :lmao:
i bought a canon in 2005 ~ it's amazing: beautiful pics, lots of extras, but it is too bulky to just slip in a purse (i started using my cel phone to take impromptu pics :guilty: )
so for christmas i researched (literally, months of reseach, scouring the web for opinions). finally :rolleyes1 decided on the olympus stylus 830.
the most impostant reasons:
~ very light (4.4 oz), & small, but still feature packed
~ "weather proof" (i.e., water resistant - so no prob if it rains, which tend to happen a lot in WDW;) )
~ 8 megapixel
~ 5x optical zoom :thumbsup2

but the real "clincher" was that it has dual image stabilizers, so no blurry shots. (we intentionally tried to blur the images, shaking the camera rapidly while shooting, and the pix still came out perfect!!! :woohoo: )

btw, i did make one minor concession: this camera uses XD cards, so i couldn't use my "stash" of SD cards. honestly tho, it is sooooo worth it. it is available in quite a few colors (i bought mine from circuit city online, in blue for about $300).

hth :)
