We bought at BWV last year resale. I would like to add 75 points direct to get membership options. I hate feeling like a 2nd class citizen. Do I buy more BWV, SSR for price, or Riveria? I know about resale limitations on Riveria, but honestly I won't sell and closer 2042 is, the less our BWV will be worth.

It is going to be near impossible to make BWV direct have positive ROI in any sense but emotional.

You'll be a lot better off with SSR (understanding you can't merge them to BWV until 7 months) or Riviera (same, with resale restrictions).

ROI = Return On Investment.

I'd buy BWV if that is where I want to stay and will be booking during the Home resort Priority period. If you buy somewhere else, you run a very real risk that you won't be able to book BWV at 7 months. That's especially true if you want standard view villas or studios. If you buy direct, you will get the same use year, which will make using the points very easy and allow you to easily book online at 11 months.

I don't like split stays and consider DVC a luxury purchase for vacations. I don't want to stress over booking and we are perfectly happy staying at BWV every time we go to WDW. Yes, BWV direct is expensive, but if that's where you want to be most of the time and the perks are that important to you. buy there. Any "savings" you experience with buying SSR will soon be forgotten if you feel "stuck" there when you want to be somewhere else. As long a Dieny can command high cash prices for on site roms, BWV resales should haold reasonable values. 2042 is still many years away and who knows how long you will actually end up owning. Personally, I don't believe that even direct points will be able to do much moving around at 7 monhts once the 2042 resorts age out of the club.

I love Riviera and would consider a purchase there, but the resale restriction is a deal breaker as no one knows what the resale market will be and we would definitely not be keeping it more than 5 years or so. YMMV.

Depends on your age. I feel having all my points at the same resort gives me a lot more options . You can walk a reservation longer that a lot of other members which helps secure hard to get reservations. I personally think BWV are the best location and have the best views for the least amount of points.

If you don't think you will want to sell, then the worth of the BWV points won't really matter that much.

Personally, I'd add on with BWV to increase your overall BWV points with the 11 month window. And then use the 7 month window for other resorts if available. I'm assuming that since you bought BWV originally, you really like that resort and will be fine to stay there for any given trip.

To me (and this is just my opinion), small add on contracts at other resorts don't make a lot of sense unless you want to make short trips from time to time, or bank and borrow to make a full trip out of them. But if you want to book at the 11 month mark, and only go to WDW once or twice a year, it would seem to make more sense to have the full 11 month advantage for all your points for every trip.

Carol very succinctly summarizes my feelings on the purchase options.

I agree with PP above. What would you do with 75 points at SSR? At Riviera? If you have a definite plan for them (bank/borrow to use every 2 years, use for a short stay on a regular basis) that's one thing, but otherwise I'd get BWV points added to your current UY so that you could use them together at BWV at 11 months or elsewhere at 7 months.

Okw I is also a good option.Buying direct from Disney you will get 2057 as your end year. We bought direct for the annual pass discount as well as the other benefits also. We have adult children and put them on the deed so they would also be DVC members and get the perks.Just one mans opinion.Paul
