Hi all!! I have just planned a trip for me and 5 friends to go to WDW (some of them for their first time) over MLK weekend. Arriving late Friday night (13th) and leaving on Tuesday (17th). We are purchasing 3 day park hopper tickets as we only have 3 days for parks but want to be able to go to all 4 and jump around.

I am having trouble planning what days to dedicate to which parks.. I wonder if anyone could help me strategize this? Me and my bf who are arranging it are sun up to sun down all day in the parks with no rest kind of people. We're all fairly young and fit and have no children so it's doable for us.. I also realize this weekend will be crowded since its a holiday weekend. Can anyone give me any tips on this? TIA!! :)

We will be there that weekend. We are leaving the kids at home and taking a short adults only trip. I might not be the best person to ask, because I pretty much ignore the crowd calendars, we don't do rope drop, we never do EMH in the morning, and we always do MK EMH at night, so we ignore all the convential wisdom. LOL.

We arrive on Wednesday morning and leave on Sunday night.

Wednesday: arrive at MCO around 11AM, ME to the resort, drop stuff in the room and head to HS. FP at HS from 1:50 to 3:50 (first FP is a throwaway that we don't care about just in case we don't make it there in time) Maybe go back to the room for a couple hours, then hop to MK and stay for EMH. Normally we always go to MK first, but we want to do just a couple of hours in HS this trip so we can ride RnRC together, which we normally don't do because DS hates it.

Thursday: MK in the morning (FP starting at 10:05 until 12:30), back to room for a rest. In the afternoon we will either do a monorail bar crawl or hop to Epcot, and end the night at Epcot.

Friday: MK all day, our FP are all in the evening starting at 6:40. If we didn't do our bar crawl on Thursday, we will do it Friday afternoon.

Saturday: Epcot all day, with a room break in the afternoon. We plan to enjoy the new art festival thing that was just announced. I also have FP for Frozen, which has opened since we were last there.

Sunday: MK in the morning with FP from 9:10-1:00. Back to the resort and on ME around 3:45.

The only wrench in our plans is Rivers of Light. If Rivers of Light is open by the time we go, we will likely hit Animal Kingdom on Thursday night instead of Epcot. Otherwise, we are going to skip AK this trip, since DS13 is the big fan of AK, and he won't be with us.

I have been over MLK weekend many times. Like you said it will be crowded but very doable. We do rope drop every day and use fast pass strategically. The one day we always avoid is Saturday at MK, but since that will be your first day it is hard to not start there. Starting and ending a trip in MK is what most people want to do. Hard to argue with that.

Oh nice!! I imagine many people will also be there the same weekend! I haven't heard about the art festival!! Thanks for mentioning i'm gonna have to look into that. Your trip sounds perfect!

We are definitely first and last park MK kind of people.. but we sacrificed that on our last trip and it was totally worth it. Only thing Im wondering is which day is worse for MK... Saturday of a holiday weekend or MLK day itself? Our only days in the parks are Saturday Sunday and Monday and I'd like to do MK more than one day- so Sunday is one day but I'm conflicted on the other!

If it was me I would do MK on Sunday and Monday. I think Saturday of MLK weekend would still be the most crowded but since you will have hoppers you could move around if needed. Believe me, no matter which park you choose for any day the best plan of action is to get there early and get fast passes for the headliner rides. You will have a blast that weekend no matter what you do.
